I have been dealing with a dumpster company for 10 years. We call for a dumpster, they put a hold on a credit card, when they remove the loaded dumpster they charge the card and release the hold.I have no idea what a load weighs so no idea beyond there word how much the load will cost. we just got a invoice from them for $200 saying 2 dumpsters from over a year ago were billed incorrectly.there is always something with this company and it is always office related not the guys delivering. The owner runs the operation and his wife runs the office and she is not handling her end.I am done with them, will call monday and tell them i am not paying.they put a stickie on the invoice says from what we can tell we have a small balance still due does not provide any confidence in the bill --208.115.xxx.x |

Used to be the dump charged a very low fee to dump and most of us just used out pickups or a utility trailer. I remember when it was $2 (two dollars ) to dump a full pickup.
Then Huizenga formed Waste Management, started buying up the dump sites and then other larger players entered the game. This business has a large most around it -there's only so many places we can legally dump.
This gave them the ability to print money. So they do. $325 and way up for a load. Extra for weight over their minimum. Lots of stuff you can't dump anymore.
What a racket. --174.84.xxx.xx |

Before you call Monday, get your leverage in writing. Pull 12 months of their charges and note every unexplained fee, then set your terms going forward: flat rate per container size, weight tickets with every pickup, and every charge itemized, not their word. Ten years of loyalty deserves better than a sticky note on a year-old invoice. Get two competing quotes this weekend too; you'll likely find a company whose office is as good as its drivers.

As you, I would be looking to do business with someone else. I don't put up with too much crap from a business; hence I DIY most things. --73.19.xxx.xx |

Richard- I used to go to the dump years ago, not interested in doing that and some of my cleanouts are way too much for a truck. 100 yards of debris is average for many of the houses i buy.
Wilson, the decision has been made already, when i am done with someone i am done,I am only calling so they can never say i screwed them, they will remember speaking to me for awhile.I spoke to a guy who comes to our investor meetings i have used a few times and he will be my new go to guy.
6x6 - I dont put up with much either most guys i have dealt with for years, same HVAC guy 30 years, same attorney 12 years, electrician 10 years --208.115.xxx.x |

Glad you already have a replacement in mind! There's only so much one can take...I had to fire a guy doing drywall work for us on a rehab. When it came time to pay him, he took quite a bit off the bill. We paid him, but never again did we hire him. --216.131.xx.xxx |

I find that commercial trash service is one of the easiest providers that anyone can save money with by just shifting or even in many cases, just threating to change service providers.
Hats off for you being committed to your team members and venders. But that has to be a two-way street too. Good to know that you see when it's not --67.140.xx.xx |

I’ve been a customer of Waste Management for 16 years. The last renewal they snuck in a 10% annual increase for the next 2 years. They are now double the competition prices and will be fired as soon as I can. I wouldn’t pay your bill for the old dumpster charges either. That’s bs. --174.249.xx.xxx |

Ray, I think the guy grew his operation to the point his wife isnt capable handling the office and even if he knows he wont change unless she wants to stop working NE- the best price is generally going to be a small mom and pop operation --208.115.xxx.x |

Ken -- understood, and honestly that is a solid way to handle it. One courtesy call keeps your name clean, and having the new go-to guy lined up before you cut the cord means zero downtime on your cleanouts. Good luck with the new crew.
