Mamdani launches fast-track housing-court push, says landlords unable to comply ‘should not be a landlord’

" New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced Tuesday the debut of the city's new Unified Court System, a mechanism to fast-track emergency cases in New York City Housing Court.

The new system will reduce the time tenants face to have emergency hearings on potential negligence from landlords, (to 5 days) Mamdani explained.

When asked how his office would differentiate between a landlord who was persistently negligent and one who simply couldn't afford to keep up with the costs of building management, Mamdani did not hold back . . .

There it is: mamdami capped rent, raised prices on the landlord, and now is confiscating their property. Pure COMMUNISM.

What about fast tracking renters who are not paying rent out of the property? He says everyone has to follow the law, I would be fine with holding landlords accountable as long as renters are held accountable.
