Have they gotten any better over the years? I feel as if they must - the last time I installed any was easily 45 years ago! I wonder about the glue, durability, etc.

Just wondering - don't have a project in mind.

My dad and I did the peel and stick tile in a front entrance way, kitchen, and dining room almost 30 years ago. I have replaced a few of the tile over the years which the tenants have damaged but the floors are still there. I have coated them with Armstrong's ShineKeeper Floor Polish which gives it a very nice shine.

We just used some tile from a stack in my mom's garage which has been there over 30 years through Ohio's hot and cold and used them under a kitchen sink cabinet and they still went down fine.

I've had little luck installing them following the instruction guide. However, I've found another method to the madness to gem to STick and hold for decades.

I haven't used the peel & stick tiles, but I testify that it is definitely worth it to put something waterproof under sinks, inside the cabinets. Make sure it goes up the wall a bit, too.

Recently, I got a report of "water coming from the bathroom vanity". The drain pipe had come loose & had flooded the inside of the vanity cabinet. But the waterproofing worked & held the water until it spilled out the front.

With a quick cleanup & tightening the pipes, all is well. No water damage at all.

(the resident did the "repair" herself, following my instructions from 1/2 way across the country) Of course, I checked it when I got back.

I had lined the cabinet floor with leftover laminate, that matched the countertops, and installed strips about 2" up the sides. Be sure to caulk all the corners and the front edge.
