A while back, I had a goofball pay me cash through the mail for a pet deposit. This was after I told him that Square invoice was emailed to him. Four $50 bills in the mail. I got out of my car walked into the bank to make the deposit, I had three $50 bills when I got inside.. My brain malfunctioned, and said, I know I counted 4, because that’s what was due. But did I? I went out to the parking lot and tore my car part. I looked all over the parking lot in case it fell out and blew off to the side. No other cars were there at the time. I am surprised the bank didn't involve the police when Ray turned it in. For some reason some folks seem to think that the bank would actually hand that fake bill back to be circulated again, I highly doubt it. My guess would be that there was no choice but to leave the bad bill with the bank. Obviously, the bank knows Ray well enough to understand the mistake on his part was a learning lesson rather than an attempt at fraud by Ray. Canada uses polymer money with hologram where hold up to light to check for counter fit bills. The counter fit bills are thicker as paper then polymer over. Often check the numbers on bill where make sure everything matches. With paper money take one dollar bill then convert to hundred dollar where bill passes paper test. Here most places will not accept hundred dollar polymer bills or Us money as often is counter fit. Common to use smaller denominations as people less likely to check. Banks here will easily convert Us to Canadians or some banks can withdraw with Us currency. Have a Costco member card where someone ask me to use to buy gasoline where they use stolen credit cards.
