Arc Fault/Combo Breakers stink. There I said it. So far we have had two slight under powers and regular breakers were fine. But the new required Arc Fault combo GFCI/Arc fault breakers all tripped!

The technology has moved out of its infancy, and yes they were horrible when they were first introduced but they’re much more reliable now.
If they’re all tripping, you either have a serious fire hazard on your hands, or the circuits are sharing a neutral. These breakers are extremely sensitive and if the neutral isnt wired properly, they’ll trip. --172.56.xx.xxx |

Jason, DH is pretty meticulous about wiring as an electrician. Doubt anything is sharing a neutral. This town is NOTORIOUS for power outages, surge and unders.
6x6, In our area, if it's a rental and a remodel, you have to have Arc fault.

I remember when GFCIs first started becoming popular in this area. They had nuisance trips all the time. So much so that you were allowed to not have one on a refrigerator because of it.
I have not messed with Arc units yet. I figured they were still working the bugs out and I am not required to do it (yet).

The funny thing is the electricians here put them in for new houses until the inspections are over and then switch them out for regular breakers because home owners complain about them. Not sure if they are still doing it but that was the case awhile back. --65.188.xxx.xx |

Ha, when I had the inspector come over for my place he told me to put one GFCI in the garage to make it legal, but to run the rest of the outlets without.
