I get lots of paint cans at purchases,probably 100 cans a year of varying amounts of paint. open the can, pour the paint over the junk in a dumpster,let it dry and perfectly legal.Stain i set aside and take to chemical collection day every couple years. The waste hauler is a Canadian company which uses a large landfill in Ann Arbour Michigan where other than burning the only way is to mix in ash from wood stove then put a small bag in front of house. In the EU countries fiber glass insulation is banned. Roxul batt is more expensive where does not deteriorate with age where never becomes moldy. They should ban the sale of fiber glass insulation here that solves the hazardous waste problem. House was built in 1983 where used fiber glass insulation. Will never buy fiber glass insulation as will last long without becoming moldy. So far have with two can DIY spray foam kit done the entire attic in house where still to remove small amounts of fiber glass insulation. Spray foam is air tight no mold or air movement along with can weight on without going through. In 2005 had a straight panel steel installed on house where used 2”/1” wood strapping then left one layer shingles on roof which is another landfill product where will never have shingle roof installed. Now the steel roof is 21 years old without any problems. The company Vic West now offers a 40 and 50 year non prorated warranty on steel roof and steel siding. So once the fiberglass insulation is out then will never have a mold problem. Spray foam has a much smaller heat transfer which works all year round. In the hot days it is hot for a few hours in afternoon then later open windows then use ceiling fan. House has no AC where the ridge vent a lot heat exits along with steel roofs do not absorb heat like asphalt shingles. I am installing rafter vents than a thin sheet of plywood where air from soft fits will be isolated from attic. In apartment buildings ripped up mattress where took out steel then took recycle place then slowly put out a small bag in front of house until nothing was left. I did call the company in the Us about recycling fiber glass insulation where they said the product was green in brochure but in reality not a very green product. Paint: I worked for a big industry. Any leftover paint, especially oil based paint, would be considered hazardous waste. All contractors were instructed to paint until the can was empty, even if it took six coats. --74.222.xxx.xx

Attic ventilation is not a problem as the metal roof has ridge vent along the entire roof. Installing rafter vents then a thing sheet of plywood where the air from soft fits will go right up to the main ridge vent. Spray foam gives a odor for a few days to five days then continue more work. Spray foam supports entire weight where fiber glass you will go right through ceiling drywall. Objective is continue to add more insulation where the attic will remain the same temperature all year round. Never experienced mold with spray foam in walls or ceilings. Humidity in the house is 50 per cent where during winter drops to 40 to 30 per cent when wood stove is used. Objective is over time get rid entirely fiber glass insulation.
