Brad mentioned earlier this week, bring business cards with you. Within your business, you hold many titles. More importantly, you deal with many different people with a different objective in mind.

So, does your business cards really reflect this realty? Let me give you an example of what I mean.

I have a set of business cards that read - I Buy Houses for Cash. The name on the card is Ray. Should I be handing out these cards to mt tenants at move in? Nope these are primarily for sellers of real estate.

I don't think so. Try to wrestle rent checks from someone after implying you have stacks of cash at home. At move in or at viewings, leads get my Asset manager business card. I am Raymond at move in.

At renews they get a different business card typically. It labels me as the manager and ask, why rent when you Rent To Own. What occurred at renewal for my desirable residents? I broke out my real estate tool bag and increased my cash flow or money down.

As for dealing with bankers or other vendors, I haven't created a card for them yet. Perhaps I should, but for me this is an asset protection move. Do I really want any cards that specifically says I own anything? I merely have beneficiary interest in what land and personal property trust own. I suppose i could brag to a banker or a contractor, but that typically does get you a better deal....so I find being a humble and confident takes me further.

How many sets of business cars do you have and how do you use them?

I have a few cards floating around. Two or three of them from when I had W2s that I would give to vendors or contractors. I try to keep one of each just to remember what I used to do.

I ordered new cards for the first Mr.LL convention I went to. Business name, email, phone, PO Box. Plus it said I was a manager. Old one was the same except the email was non existent as I moved and that company didn't service my area.

What a shame that the new ones didn't show up on time. Handing out cards with white out on them was sad.

I only have one card that I use now. I get easily confused so it is probably best that way.

Most of my tenants don't care about the card, they just want me to send a vCard to them so it is in their phone. --47.227.xx.xxx

I have two cards.

One set of cards (we buy houses) were printed up in DH's name, and were intended for being given to people who had a house to sell.

The other set of cards (we rent houses) were printed up in my name, and were intended for being given to people who needed a house to rent.

Neither gets used much. (Small, isolated, rural.) But each card is targeted towards its audience. --96.46.xxx.xxx

One Card: My name in bold print as I am introducing me.

Next why the card: I buy properties that are for sale. I own properties that are for rent. I state can I help you in anyway?

Finally: Please contact me if I can help you otherwise toss this card. --184.57.xxx.xxx

At least that is what I keep telling myself.

Thought I had it one year, turns out there was a miscount. --47.227.xx.xxx
