Beautiful home but too much for me on two accounts; price and space. I've no need for 11 bedrooms and all of that space. I'm guessing the maintenance of the house and grounds is going to cost at least 15-20K per year. No telling what the taxes and HVAC bill would be, but I'm guessing just insuring, covering property taxes and maintenance would wreck the average budget. --23.28.x.xxx |

Or you could buy Boone Pickens ranch here in the Texas panhandle. They just lowered the price from $220,000,000 to $170M so they can close out his estate.
The trustees have also authorized the sale of the ranch in two divisions. US highway 70 splits the ranch with 15,708 acres, more or less, being on the east side of the highway and 48,964 acres, more or less, being on the west side of the highway. Property taxes for owner occupied would be 1% of value, so $189,000/year. Not bad compared to other states.
As a rental the taxes would be 2%, so $378,000/year.
As commercial property, such as a resort or retreat 3%, so $567,000/year.
