we set up an LLC for one property inorder to get a no doc loan. WE have since paid off that loan and received a check in the mail for the ecrow and such. The check is writen out to the LLC AND my name. I suppose i never opened a bank account for that LLC and I no long need the LLC and will close it, but for now what is the best way to cash this check, or deposit the check?

If it were me, I would try to remote deposit it with my banking app. I have deposited many checks that were not made out to the correct payee using my banking app and have never had a problem. Worst case is it get rejected and you have to open an account for the LLC just to process this one transaction. --70.166.xxx.xx |

I would go to your bank with documentation that you are the owner or manager of the LLC...and ask them how they'd like you to sign the check.
They might ask you to sign twice such as below...

Yes, thanks. First i took it to my bank where I thought i would have opened an LLC account four years ago. But I did not have such account there and they were training a new teller and seemed a bit proud to turn my business away! Not offerings suggestions to otherwise, just NO NO NO,,,never, never, never, even if it's the last check on earth! SO i posted here. And I put the check in the night drop with a deposit slip and it it shows in my account. It's really if the bank/person on the other end rejects it, but they want that to clear and off their books as much as I want my money refunded! Funny thing is then when the mail came that same day was a check from Homedepot for a credit balance for a DBA that I hold, which i no long use either,,, and a check make out to that DBA, so i did the same thing with that check, Signed the business name, signed my name, signed FOR DEPOSIT ONLY and the account number. Mind you i have rather large amounts of money in each of these banks and it was almost comical not to cash the check against my own account! Anyway, the new trainer was very strick on the rules that day. So we'll see if the second check gets deposited. ALSO it's a good reminder to me to tighty up those loose ends of LLC and dba's that no long service my business needs. Guess i've been on the earth long enough to know better! Not to be a complainer, but I would complain about it just a bit.
I just dropped a check off at my CU this morning for about 135k. They said because of the size they need to put a hold on it for two days. I smiled and said I understood but I know the main reason is they make more money holding that for two days.
