I post a similar post like 3 years ago, i just want to see if there are any new insights.

I was looking for alternative to coin op, for washer and dryers. I've been checking out Shine Pay and Payrange, but wanted to see if anyone had used them, or other solutions. Or if they have another approach.

Still using coin op here. There was a lack of accountability with the online payment service. The fees were also high but it is convenient . --162.204.xxx.xxx

Thanks. I would like to know what 'the fees' were... I'm seing about $150 for a module and then 3% per transaction. Which translates to like .10 cents a transaction for me. --192.243.xxx.xx

Most major distributers of washing and drying machines for a laundry room offer a card option. The tenant puts $ on a card and uses it in the machine No coins necessary. The machines tells them by text when the washing or drying is finished. We get 50% of of the proceeds and they handle all repairs etc

We had our own machines years ago and it was a hassle with collecting the coins and providing maintenance --24.22.xx.xxx

The card processing was at a building I purchased. The previous owner told me that they are slow to pay and the amount has gone down significantly. This could be just that company. He said he would have gotten rid of them if he was keeping the property. So this is second hand info but I do know the company from another account and they have poor customer support.

I also removed the card processing at another new purchase but I don’t have the data from before the purchase and the old owner is out of state. I would bet they have absolutely zero knowledge of what was happening.

I switched companies and went to coins and the tenants were happy that I did. They bring in about $300 /month now. I had trust them to report the transactions accurately.

If you have a smaller company with an owner who oh can communicate with then you are probably okay. --162.204.xxx.xxx

I looked into this, but decided against pay per use. Too complicated, I wasn't sure I'd make any money, and the companies insisted on a years-long contract that stayed with the property even if I sold it. It doesn't help that I'd be paying the increased water bill in an area with exhorbitant rates (thank you, EPA).

I just bumped everyone's rent up $20 a month and put a washer/dryer in the basement to use for "free." And a camera to make sure they were only doing their own laundry. I'm not making a ton of extra money, but it's worked reasonably well and has helped me sign tenants that wouldn't rent without a washer and dryer on site. --108.201.xxx.xxx

First part of a coin up laundry is the type of machines where using a laundromat machines like Speed Queen or Huebsch cost more upfront but more reliable over time. Natural gas coin up machines dry clothes in a shorter time along cost less to operate where here one third. Most provinces and states have a representatives that sell laundromat machines to public where visit then check out options. Front load washing machines use 40 per cent less water along with small amount of hot water as only in pre wash and wash cycle. Again depends on the number rental units where that determines the investment. Consider having a security CCTV in laundry room as this will discourage theft where some will even steal machines. Over time it is better to own equipment as once paid off if financed that the money you keep. --216.110.xxx.xxx
