What one of end results with the war with Iran the petro dollar will be less significant. The Yuan will be used more and more. The world is changing where the Us has consistent policy regarding anything where the tariffs are absolutely not bringing back Us manufacturing as without a industrial strategy like green energy for aluminium and steel to compete with rest of world. The inflation with war with Iran is making things worse along some are buying Ev vehicles. To tell ally that close down industry then relocate to the Us is never going happen where the cost of fossil fuel energy is too expensive. Manufactures must pass on increased costs to consumers. In the end tariffs are tax on countries bring in tariffs. One thing about the decline of dollar that will bring back some manufacturing back to Us as tariffs will no longer be required. In Canada when the situation with the province of Quebec wanted to separate the value of the Canadian dollar dropped where it became more expensive to import along with exporting products made it more competitive. Unlike looking inward this country is looking outward where has free trade agreements with the entire world. The objective over time is to bypass the Us completely. A country must look producing things at the same cost or lower costs then imports. With green energy more automation along the transportation costs can be reduced as a electrified rail system for passenger and freight is more cost effective. A. good education system where the workforce of the future can work in a high tech world. The only time a lower will effect when goods imported are more expensive then locally produced along with traveling out of the country is more expensive as well. Investment company told me that is strong possibility that the Canadian dollar will increase where it could be close to below parity or parity with the Us dollars. Over few years it is close $0.73 of the Us dollar. With change in tourism most are flying over. --216.110.xxx.xxx |

Around July the US administration will decide to scrap the CUSMA or go ahead with it. Three key areas are lumber, aluminium, auto and steel where position of government here is completely scrap the tariffs altogether. Canada produces a lot potash which is used for farms. The situation with the world depends how many countries will use Brics system to buy oil. If the Yuan is used then the value of the Us dollar will plunge. So far a sticking point with CUSMA talks are the boycotts of all Us bourbon, beer, wine and whiskey where two provinces have no boycotts. Unlike other countries the premiers of the provinces have a personal relationship with the Us governors in the Us where they are invited here for hockey game where the majority of Us governors are against the tariffs altogether along some members of the GOP are against the tariffs where will say privately not in publicly. Here the steel and aluminium smelting plants use hydro electricity. There are continuing where are private no details with the media. In my lifetime I have seen us further apart. My investment company said there was a possibility that the Canada dollar may increase as I took money out of aggressive mutual funds in the market where the interest rate on Us treasury bills is much higher than Canadian. Will have to wait until further this year. --216.110.xxx.xxx |

Thank you, Robert. I just learned what potash is as well. --73.19.xxx.xx |

The war with Iran has caused consequences where now oil transactions will be Yuan or Eu currencies including Venezuela where the present government military did not change just leader was taken out of country. As a result that is going to effect the value of the Us dollar which is going no longer being used a reserve currency. In Iran the railway line is being used to transport oil to China where that bypasses the strait of Hormuz. UAE will break away from OPEC where a again Yuan or other currency other than Us. Dollar devalued is not the end of the world where soon Us products will be competitive with imports so that encourage industry in the Us to produce. So soon the tariffs will not be needed as the price of imports will go up. China is the second largest user of oil where now will continue to function along with slowly transition to solar panels and wind turbines reducing the amount of oil imports. Wanted to invest in Us treasury bills as short term interest is much higher then Canadian where investment firm warned about as if Canadian dollar may rise earnings will go down. While like all things the Allies are pulling away from the Us where will no longer be military procurement from the Us as questions about NATO and other issues. In the world the EU second economic area. When the Canadian dollar went down there is a trade off where more manufacturing increased here along travel outside Canada decreased. So in the future things may change which is going to depend on how economies decline or grow. Profanity along with temper out bursts it is not change the way a government makes decisions. --216.110.xxx.xxx |

One time the Canadian dollar was at par with the Us dollar where Canadians found out how they ripped off where Canadian dollar was not treated at par. Americans coming here are getting ripped off if do not exchange to Canadian dollars where many retail and gas stations rip them off where they do not give fair exchange. When Canadians go to other countries first to Us then Euro as get a better exchange rate. Like always money talks but some places are reluctant to except Us dollars. One time dollars were backed by gold where Canadians did the same which was huge mistake were lost a substantial amount. Right now the Us dollar is in peril as when Yuan and Euro is used for crude purchases that may change things. In order to buy Us treasuries must exchange to Us dollars first then hope the value of Us dollar does not go down. Us treasury offer higher interest rates for a shorter period of time. Example if you go Switzerland which does not use the Euro where use Swiss franc then go into a large department store they except Euro. Some countries in EU use Euro and others do not. Some Americans come here where thought they ripped off when buy gasoline where gasoline sold here is in litres not Us or Imperial gallons. Today paid $173.2 per litre. Tank holds 80 litres. Heard that the tariffs are going to be illegal where that should be good for the Us and Canadian economy. While the Gordie Howe bridge was financed by Canada the 50 per cent on the Us belongs to the state Michigan where Us labour and steel was used once paid off then the state of Michigan will collect halve the tolls. Unlike other points the bridge connects to major highways on both sides of border where traffic is going to move at faster rate. Less pollution, traffic jams lower cost to cross. With CUSMA signed the economies of both countries will continue to grow where goods will pass through both countries not one way as some are told. --216.110.xxx.xxx |

If the US dollar is so bad, why do you exchange for it and buy US Treasuries? Is it because you actually make money doing that even tho the US is about to crumble in your eyes? --47.227.xx.xxx |

Key takeaways
While the U.S.’s share in global exports and output has declined, the dollar’s transactional dominance is still evident in areas including FX volumes and trade invoicing.
On the other hand, de-dollarization is unfolding in central bank FX reserves, where the share of USD has slid to a two-decade low.
In fixed income, the share of foreign ownership in the U.S. Treasury market has fallen over the last 15 years, pointing to reduced reliance on the dollar.
De-dollarization is most visible in commodity markets, where a large and growing proportion of energy is being priced in non-dollar-denominated contracts. --174.131.xxx.xxx |
