Hi. For those that cater to STR, do you give out the address before they commit? I am using Furnished Finders. There they list the general area of the home, its proximity to local medical facilities,etc but not the address. Someone asked me for the address to check it out. Sounds reasonable but I wanted to ask.

We never give out the address until after the deposit, fees and 1st month rent are all paid.
Our standard response is "for the privacy of our current residents, we do not divulge any information about our location address." We give this same response for folks who want to tour our units before committing.
This reduces the likelihood of scammers getting our street address. Also, you never know if disgruntled ex-spouses are searching with bad intentions. --136.61.xx.xxx |

Yes I list the address on Furnished Finders and Airbnb.
I have some walk through videos of the unit and the neighborhood on youtube and can send links to them. Now I do have exterior cameras around the units so if there is a problem I can see what happened.
I have less issues with this type of rental than the long term rentals. I generally find the people to be neat, clean, polite, leave the place in good shape, and follow directions.
Every once in awhile I have had people with kids who must have run around the house like wildlings. Nerf bullets under the couch, behind the bed, drink bottles behind the TV. But really that's been the exception. --65.188.xxx.xxx |

It depends.
Like Bonanza, I find these MTR folks to be pretty reasonable. There have been a couple who were already in the area & wanted to drive by. When I tell them to not stop & disturb the current resident, they agree. Most are coming from a great distance, so there is no chance of that, anyway - they are just looking for a decent, safe, convenient neighborhood. Wouldn't STR folks be coming from a distance, too? I would otherwise rent to locals - had bed experience with that.
I don't have the address in the FurnishedFinder ad, but the location circle is very accurate.
After pre-qualifying, I speak to the prospect on the phone. If we are both are still interested at that time, I will give the address to someone who asks - for something like using google maps to see how far the commute would be to their place of work.
I have also given the address earlier to some - to encourage the same thing - when I knew the commute was too great.
But, many other times, they find out after $$ is received and the Rental Agreement is ratified, when they get arrival instructions. --72.218.xx.xxx |

I found my STR hijacked and advertised on craigs list at an 80% discount. A peep who tried to rent occupied time alerted me to the listing.
