So somehow Fin-Cen will be involved not just in money-laundering schemes, but other federal fraud schemes as well. Part of the new Anti-fraud task force somehow. As someone who has been upset about the waste of our tax dollars since I began paying taxes, I'm happy we finally have some sort of focus on this. DOGE was the beginning - I was wholeheartedly in support of their mission.

Here's an announcement:

w w w . fincen . gov/news/news-releases/fincen-issues-advisory-health-care-fraud-schemes-targeting-medicare-medicaid-and

"Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) issued an Advisory urging financial institutions to be vigilant about health care fraud schemes targeting government health care benefit programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. FinCEN’s Advisory provides financial institutions with an overview of how fraudsters, organized crime groups, and, increasingly, transnational criminal organizations are targeting government health care benefit programs. It also highlights money laundering typologies and red flag indicators to help financial institutions identify and report suspicious activity. Today’s Advisory strongly encourages financial institutions to voluntarily report suspicious activity to FinCEN and immediately notify law enforcement of such activity.? --73.216.xxx.xxx

Good!

I want to see these frauds and ripoffs in prison and the money recovered. I'm sick of seeing them get away with it.In the news it shows them laughing at us. The judges give them light or no jail when they steal millions/ Billions. --172.222.xx.xxx

Have we actually seen any numbers from DOGE on how much money it saved the taxpayers? I'd bet for every $1 they saved, they spent $3.

I'm 100% for eliminating waste and fraud, but until it reaches the local levels, it's going to continue to be rampant. --130.41.xx.xxx

I don't know if it saved us anything but it opened a lot of eyes to holes in the systems - the silos of information and how they didn't talk to each other - the abysmal non-existent tracking of our money and the arrogant mindset of those charged with minding it.

And it triggered kids like Nick Shirley who then exposed Minnesota and now California - so there's that. --73.216.xxx.xxx

If I have to jump thru hoops to buy a house with cash I hope that they actually target those that are doing things fraudulently.

Will ease a little of the pain.... maybe. --47.227.xx.xxx

My grandson's ABA Center in Richmond (autism therapy school) closed with two weeks' notice after Nick Shirley's report out of Minnesota. They told my DIL that it was issues with "Medicare" that were the problem. I think they got out a few steps ahead of federal investigators.

* Upon my own investigation at the state level, I confirmed three, maybe four, therapy centers registered at that same address. No way no way no way. There were about 6-10 kids there, max. And 6-10 therapists as ABA is one-to-one ratio of teachers/therapists to child. A *tiny* place. No Parking. No rooms for 3-4 therapy centers, and you don't combine autism services with Narcotics Anonymous and other Mental Health services in the same small office anyway.

* Medicare is not covering autism therapy for pre-school kids. MedicAID yes not Medicare. But regardless, not a single kid there was on Medicaid - grandson's therapy was being covered by insurance and I would bet the other kids as well. Or cash payments - but not Medicaid. No way.

So my grandson was getting truly excellent services, it changed his life. The teachers and therapists were real and actually all quickly found work at other centers. All the kids were poop out of luck though - waiting lists at all of them - so it was an emotionally wrenching time for kids who don't need to be emotionally messed with.

I wrote to a newspaper who had done an article on the owners a few years back, but no response.

He has had 24/7 protection services donated until he can gather enough resources to fund his own as his threat level - and worse, his family's - has gone up exponentially.

He has Quality Learing hoodies for sale, and Nick Shirley Protection Fund t-shirts and such.

Newsome threatened him with jail. Good answer, clap clap clap. Yes sir, go after the messenger not the fraudsters. --73.216.xxx.xxx
