Hey Zero,
A while back you said you would look at the ad about LIFE LOCK protection service with an open mind and report what you thought,. I believe its much more than freezing ones credit cards and cheap for what is/could be at stake,
There are some shorts about their ads on you tube,..I don't know if I'm allowed to put those links here,.but one guy has a large trailer truck with large of his social security numbers posted on its side.and saying what it is,.feeling he is safe with Life lock and explains why,.others talk about the benefits of joining,..for me.,, I think its a good deal for little money. Perhaps you have some input of why it may be not.
It seems that the larger more explanatory infomercial is on weekend TV very early early in the morning,

They seem to be more of a monitoring system rather than something that stops the theft.
Pricey and that's just for the introductory first year. Then it gets a lot higher I guess.
Seems that people consider Aura and Identityforce to be better options. I have not looked into them.
At a glance I see Lifelock to be like ADT is for home security. They are probably the best known because of all the advertising they do and the fact that they have been around a long time.
I chose to go with a different home security provider after probably five years with ADT. I pay less, have better customer support, and the system is easier to manage.
My thoughts right now are that Lifelock provides the same service as others at an inflated rate. I could be wrong and I admit that I have not delved into it as much as you have.
I would not shun anyone for using them, but for me I am happy that I at least froze my credit with all three bureaus.

The commercials are there to sell a product.
Todd Davis, the former CEO of LifeLock, didn't just get his identity stolen once; it happened at least 13 times between 2007 and 2008.
In a move that has since become the gold standard for "marketing stunts you'll regret," Davis put his actual Social Security number on billboards, TV commercials, and even a flatbed truck to prove his service was impenetrable. The results were a thief's wish list:
The Damage: Fraudsters used his SSN to take out a $500 payday loan, open AT&T wireless accounts (racking up over $2,000 in debt), open utility accounts, and even apply for credit at a gift basket company.
The "Why": LifeLock's primary service at the time was placing fraud alerts on credit files—something anyone can do for free. These alerts didn't stop lenders who didn't check credit bureaus, leaving massive "truck-sized" holes in his protection.
The Aftermath: Beyond the personal headache, the FTC eventually stepped in and fined LifeLock $12 million in 2010 for deceptive advertising, followed by another $100 million fine in 2015 for failing to secure user data and violating the previous agreement. --165.85.xxx.xxx |

OK not great news,..but if they were fined 112 million and now under a lot of scrutiny would they have cleaned up the reasons?
are fraud alerts and things like the 2 million insurance worth the price of what could happen?
they claim to offer
2 bureau credit monitoring¹
$1M in lawyers and experts coverage²
$25k stolen funds reimbursement protection²
$25k personal expense reimbursement²
Dark web monitoring & data breach alerts
24/7 expert help to resolve identity threats

For now I think I will just place this under the tab of a solution looking for a problem.
I am sure that people get hit. I am not completely sure that this place can cause that to not happen.
Again, not claiming it is wrong, just not as high on the priority list as it could be for me. --47.227.xx.xxx |

I don't see how they STOP anything, only profess to help you recover. $25k financial loss coverage not enough. $1m lawyer coverage seems high compared to loss, so I bet it's set that high just for advertising purposes - like AirBnB. --173.18.xx.xxx |
