I have a closing monday,my attorney told me to bring 2 forms of photo ID,he said drivers license and passport.I never travel out of the country so i dont have a passport,not sure why as my attorney and the owner of the title company i have done business with for 20 years so i assume it is a new policy.I do have a pistol permit which they should accept,i dont have any other photo id.How many here have 2 forms of photo ID? 3 forms of photo id-- DL, CCL, passport.
I had my passport for maybe 15 years (which means I renewed it once) before I ever used it for travel. But it was very helpful for starting a new job, because it counted as two forms of ID on its own with HR.
The CCL is essentially like the DL. Same photo, and it even has the DL # on it.

Concealed carry license. In 2021, TX went to permitless carry, but I still have my license and I keep it renewed. I don't actually carry, but I went through the training and got the permit because why not? --172.58.xxx.xxx |

Interesting. I have only ever needed one - my driver's license.
Which is good, because that's then only photo ID I have, too.
And if it's Real ID, shouldn't that be enough?
CC permit does not have photo here. I've heard of some credit card(s) that can have it, but mine don't.

Likely just additional protection against people falsely transferring titles. Really good fake drivers licenses are easy to get. I have a college student....

How many regular people going to buy there personal home are going to be asked for a second form of ID at a closing nd not have one? I doubt people with passports carry them so they will have to be told ahead of time.Am i going to have to confirm my buyers in the future have 2 forms of ID before i agree to sell them a house,i already confirm the people selling me a house have a valid ID,i guess that just shows the type of people i usually buy houses from.Maybe because i am buying with a hard money loan? --98.98.xx.xxx |

Three government issued and a couple of photo ID that are not government issued.
My photo is on my Costco card and on a couple of different credit cards. Several times in my life I have had a student ID with a photo, which might be considered a government issued ID since they were from state universities, not private ones.
But other than that, I have a star card, a passport, and a military ID card.
I can, however, see where there are probably a lot of people whose only government issued photo ID card is their driver's license. Perhaps it is time for those people to investigate obtaining additional ID.

No passport, although I was supposed to get one.
State DL has a photo. My carry license does not, and is no longer needed in Indiana.
I have a Utah carry license which has my picture on it. It might be expired now. (Just checked and it is expired) My PADI diver's card has my picture on it, although it is so old it probably no longer looks like me.

DL, also expired RealID DL (I needed to go to DMV to renew that but could renew online with regular DL so that's what I did) also passport, passport card, lots of expired passports which can be used for some things. And Costco CC card :)

jonny- Hard money loan and buying in a LLC.I think you are referring to FIN-CEN but title company said they dont need to collect info for that as it was overturned or something similar and expected to go to supreme court. Here everyone has birth certificate where everyone will have valid social insurance number. Here unlike the Us everyone carries Healthcard with photo on it. Where show when visit doctor, hospital or diagnostic clinics. Usually everyone will have a few bills like cell phone, internet or utility bills. The most important area is with more one piece of identification that the spelling in the surname is not changed. A common trick is to change a letter where the credit report comes back no identity where someone around thirty that is unlikely. Also check on the rental application that the place of employment actually exists where yellow pages or internet. One lie out. If they give a reference with phone number first ask if they have any houses or apartments for rent then if the person does what you are talking then more likely they are friend or relative. If credit check is done where there are any unpaid utility bills or other unpaid bills than this person is dishonest. You'll want to get a passport to attend the MrLL Retreat in Cancun '27!
My title co says "we have your ID on file".
FinCEN is required for LLC and CASH. If your funds are presenting as a LOAN, you might not need it.
If your hard money lender is a person I would think FinCEN will be all over it.
If FinCEN is required it can delay your closing.
Perhaps a new clerk handling your transaction is not up to speed. IT started March 1.

We had an influx of a bazillion illegal aliens in the past several years - by policy - and they are scattered all over the country by design. Most are not terrified families seeking asylum but young military-age men seeking to damage our way of life. Well they have. It's our fault for allowing it, for watching it on tv and not doing something about it, not even talking about it. But too late, it's already done.
So now, to recover from that fiasco, we might have to prove we are citizens to do things like buy big parts of the country.

Pmh, my state does not require training. I did my own.
Ohio did require training so I took a Utah CC course. It was a one day thing and only paperwork. The tester walked everyone, as a whole, thru each question on the test.
It was a farce.
From what I have gathered, nearly all government run firearms training gets this way. Shameful, but true.
I know some law enforcement personnel that only use their firearm for the annual training requirement. Yet they carry daily and are expected to be proficient.
I feel that it should be up to the individual to get the best level of training that they can.
Some around here have tried pushing legislation that would give a tax break of sorts for legitimate forearms training. Once again, as soon as you start that the cheaters start coming out to make a fast buck. --47.227.xx.xxx |
