I need to install a security camera at a remote location with no wifi and no electricity due to illegal dumping. I dont need continous or remote monitoring, just the ability to use blue tooth or my phone to connect to it to see when someone dumps.
i am sure these cameras are out there but the one I bought still needs to be a network cam and that wonlt work.
thanks for any help

I'll expand on what Marv wrote:
There are a couple ways to go with a trail cam.
Cheapest is one where you have to physically go to the camera to retrieve the photos.
Second is one with cellular capability. You can check the camera anytime. If you get an alert you can see what is happening live. Some allow pan, zoom, etc. Some are solar powered. BUT you have to pay a monthly fee to ATT or T-Mobile, etc. Maybe $20/month or less if you pay annually vs monthly. If it's a remote site without cell service this obviously won't work. --172.58.x.xxx |

I have a cellular trail cam that I use. Battery powered but I have a power pack I can wire into it.
Send pics directly to my phone and keeps better quality on the memory card.
Spypoint is who I use. I pay the annual fee of $120 for unlimited pictures. They have a free version that allows I think 100 pics a month. At least they used to. Might not do that any longer.
But if the place is close and you plan to go there anyhow you can just pick up a standard trail cam, put good lithium batteries in it as cold kills them fast. --47.227.xx.xxx |

Depending on what you need exactly I would be looking at Eufy cameras. Easy to set up and the phone ap is great.
The eufy SoloCam S340 is probably what you need. It has 4LTE so you can get the signal immediately. It has solar so you don't need external power. You can do everything you need from your phone and with local storage (8GB onboard) you can search previous days recordings on your phone via the app. You do not need a subscription. If you get an alert you can speak via the app and tell the intruders the police are on the way.
This camera can pan, zoom and tilt. It can track movement. I think this is pretty close to what you are wanting.

I purchase on sale from either Amazon or Big 5 Sporting Goods a Solar or Battery operated trail camera, motion activated. I hide them up in tree. So when someone comes near to my cameras it start to shoot either a short 30-45 second video or a bunch of still shots. I caught someone on a stolen bicycle stealing copper pipes. When I found him blocks away, my Sawzall made the difference to his transportation and career of crime.

You cut his stolen bike into pieces… genius
Now he has to steal another one. Great plan --162.204.xxx.xxx |

Not to mention the fact that you can't tell it is a stolen bike just by looking at it.
Another BS story from the king of lies. --47.227.xx.xxx |
