I generally like use 3X gross income. People who are self-employed ‘may’ have legit business expenses that don’t impede cash flow, such as depreciation on paid for office equipment. And I am finding that small business owners are often go-getters. My daughter’s family buys all of their celebration cakes from a woman in their community who bakes out of her home. They’ll pay $60 or $70 for a beautiful cake for a birthday. Well worth it. The cakes are made to their cultures’ taste, which is much less sweet, loaded with fresh fruit, though candies or other sweet treats can be included. I think my daughter just picks the cakes up at the kitchen door, not sure about that. But ordering is usually done by text with photos, so no in-home customers. IF I am correct.
