Today I tried to ask a good friends wife to look after my adolescent(?), while I recover from surgery next week. The friend refused access to his wife during several phone calls. Reasoning, didn't want to be bothered or inconvenienced. I could hear the wife having lunch in the background, both are retired. As a result, I've modified my Living Family Trust/Will. Instead of providing a solid annual income for the couple, that portion is going to a charity outside of California.

Well, I'd look after your kid, Robert J, but I wouldn't want to be named in a will. I have enough. But, I have to wonder what kind of looking after does an adolescent need; they should be fairly self-sufficient. Of course, if they have some sort of limiting disability, well, that's different. But even with persons with disabilities, the goal should always be working toward independence.
