Amazon Chase Fraud (by Robert J [CA]) Posted on: Oct 8, 2025 11:55 AM Message:
On one of my Amazon accounts I purchased over $7,000 last month for supplies for some apartment buildings. One item was defective and Amazon Sold the Product but wanted me first to work with the Manufacturer/Distributor first, before issuing me a refund.
I contacted the Owner/Importer and we pulled resources, but the product, a $600 electronic tool had software/hardware issues -- issuing confirmation of it's calibration with different known phrases. And not really calibrated.
The product was made in Asia and the translations were not accurate. So I got permission from Amazon, that got weekly pallets of the product. I could return it for a full credit, no need to include this product payment with my Amazon Prime Card Payment.
So I get my Amazon Prime Chase Statement and I'm being charge the 18.49% interest charge for my total $7,000 in purchases, even though I paid my balance in full, less this $600 product, authorized return okayed.
Amazon said they can do nothing even though they sent me a shipping label for the return and it took Amazon and the Seller/Importer 22 days to process my refund.
So I told Amazon that I refuse to pay my balance of $7,000, on this Amazon Prime Chase Card, and the interest charge is Usury, illegal and hung up on them.
I called Chase Bank and they said there was nothing they could do either. I told chase that they are going to have to work with Amazon because I was authorized to withhold payment for a returned defective item. And I refuse to pay any part of the $7,000, until the $116 interest charge has been reversed.
And hung up on them also.
Within minutes a Chase Supervisor wanted to confirm that Amazon gave me "permission" to withhold the returned product amount $600, from my Chase Amazon Prime Card, but did not send Chase their reversal of the charge -- letting the importer control the refund, issued some 26 days after receipt.
Then Chase (3.6 Trillion) tells Amazon (2.3 Trillion) they have to issue me a gift card for $116, or I'm refusing to pay my $7,000 Amazon debt. Oh and I also have some Chase Lines of Credit for chicken scratch in the 100's of thousands....
So I'm waiting for Amazon to issue me my $116 gift card, or I'm going to close my piggy bank like the Federal Government Shut down... --47.143.xx.xx |

Can anyone refresh my memory? What was the name of the man who left mrlandlord because of Robert J's incoherent rambling and responses that have no relevance to the initial posts or to landlord topics in general?
Whoever it was, I miss his posts. --98.255.xx.xx |

It was Sid. And it's too bad he left, but he *was* being a child about it. "If X is here, I won't play with anyone at all." Power play much?
How hard is it to not read or ignore a post or a thread? I do it all the time, and I'm sure people do it about me too. --173.28.xx.xxx |

I miss Sid.
He seemed to be honest with his posts. People could learn from him.
Those that don't care about who posts what confuse me.
We are supposed to be a community here to help each other. One of rhe best things about this forum is trust in the posts.
The vast majority of posts from him are just lies. Some things are dangerous, some are illegal.
So the first time someone comes here for advice and reads about kicking a judge in the head, pulling weapons on police or any of the other crap that he spews what does that do to our credibility as a community? --174.226.xxx.xxx |

News Flash......SoCal Landlord now has problems with his latest business partners Amazon and Chase. Problems fall on the heals of issues with local government, state government, inspection teams, judges, police, business partners, bankers, tenants and some believe just about everyone else he has come in contact with.
News at 11, unless we get sued before the news airs. --67.140.xx.xxx |

Zero, we have no idea who anyone here is (unless we happen to participate in "Real Life" events and put faces to on-line names as you and I have done.) And even then, we have no idea who *really* does what when where and why. Bragging and lying started here can be continued face to face.
We don't even know if every post made by you - or me or RobertJ or NE or Plenty - are even made by you or me etc. Sid could in fact be on here every day with a new name and we'd never know. I could (and have) change my posting name and voila! I'm a new person.
Mr. Landlord provides the forum for open discussion, but it is not responsible for vetting content or personal posts. (That would be an impossible task on an open forum like this.) RobertJ could be removed - and he could log back on tomorrow with The Dread Pirate Roberts as a posting ID and how would we know?
I liked Sid's postings: his advise was solid and well-reasoned. Not always applicable to everyone, but one could take what worked for them and leave the rest as everyone should with every post.
For him to insist that somehow Mr. Landlord should prevent a poster from posting because he didn't like him seemed over the top. There's a few on here I think we could do without and some feel that way about me, but sheesh. What right do we have to insist on that kind of control over posters??? --173.28.xx.xxx |

It isn't about liking or disliking the person. If that were the case I would be gone for sure.
It is about the content of the posts.
When Ray is making comments like that you know there is a problem.
There are not that many posts each day. I know because I try to read them every day. Maybe the webmaster could spend time wiping the obvious lies, but that would be a task in and of itself.
Jeffrey knows him. Maybe he will contact him and tell him to stop. That would be the best case scenario.
He is either a troll or has problems. Either way it looks bad on the community as a whole when it is allowed to continue. The credibility gets lost when we see posts like that.
Yes, we can ignore or gloss over his posts. But what does that do to the new visitors of this site?
I have been to a few events put on by Mr. Landlord. I guarantee that if I stumbled upon on of those BS posts that are stated as real first I would never have spent a dime or an extra minute here.
Maybe that would have been for the best, I guess I don't know. I do know that I care about this forum and wish that the BS would be stopped. --47.248.xxx.xxx |

I agree with those who say take what you like and leave the rest.
Zero: While I admire your concern for newbies, if someone is just starting out in this business, and visits here, I hope they spend enough time to read many posts and balance out the advice given.
If they only read one post (that happens to be one of Robert's special ones) they are foolish.
If they are gullible enough to think it is OK to do things that are blatantly illegal & stupid - just because they saw "someone" post it online - well.... they probably shouldn't be in this business. they will not survive, being that naive. --72.218.xx.xxx |

I think it was sid and Roy who left over Roberts post. I enjoy reading fiction though, so I do read them. I don’t spend near as much With amazon on my chase card as Robert does, but when I have an issue, both Amazon and chase bend over backwards to satisfy me. Amazon is much cheaper than HD and lowes, so I’ll keep on buying. --47.161.xxx.xx |

When I first started coming here often I remember reading a post about a guy that engraved the batteries in his smoke detectors.
I thought, wow that is being very cautious. But I guess I could see it happening.
Then the story expanded.
The guy posted that there was a fire in one of his apartments. OK, unfortunately I know about that.
After the fire he was walking thru with the fire marshal because he was in trouble for not having working smoke detectors. I could see that happening as well.
Then he picked up a kids toy car, pulled the battery out of it and it had his name and date engraved on it.
Now it was starting to get a little far fetched. But I followed the story anyhow as I was new here and wanted to read and learn all I could.
Now, after years of reading the stories have gotten even more far fetched.
We have so many people here that have been in the business for so long that I think they forget what it was like to be starting out. I know I did not have this place as a resource back then.
Now when the new person comes here because they did a search for landlord help and they read a story that is full of illegal actions, absurd happenings, racist remarks and bigotry what do you think they will do?
It's a flip of the coin as to if they catch one of his stupid posts. When nobody calls it out it makes us all look like we either don't care or we are stupid.
I know he has his little group of followers as well as people that say ignore him, but why it is allowed to continue confuses me. --47.248.xxx.xxx |
