Once again I found a great book for a 20-40 year old.
I Will Teach You To Be Rich by Ramit Sethi 2nd edition
Talks about how to set yourself up for success as a young person it the terms of a 6 week plan
Discusses credit score, credit cards, wise use of them, and how to get the most out of them without getting in trouble with them.
Talks about setting up a brokerage account, funding, automating regular contributions, and talks about which investments to pick (low cost mutual funds)
Rails a bit about banks and financial advisors.
Talks about conscious spending in stead of a strict budget that no one can maintain.
Gives rationales for his advice in a conventional tone that is not boring and is entertaining.
Overall a great read. Perhaps not much meat for a 60 year old but I feel like it is the kind of advice you’d give your kid or young relative for whom you wanted to see them succeed.
