If they are bad as in you had to evict them then Jason has nailed it.
The courthouse will take care of removing them and the case file should be available for others to see. Unless you are in a place that hides all that.
Then you could send the info to the credit bureaus if you wanted it known.
If they are just in need of a little training then head to their wallet. Breaking rules can cost you $$ so don't do it. --47.248.xxx.xxx |

I'm guessing, is there a website or even on this site, where you can post your experience with a bad tenant, like a database of sorts for bad renters that landlords can check before renting to someone? The problem is the system is not set up to really make renters accountable for their behavior, too many laws that lean pro-renter and make it difficult for landlords to stop them, other then evicting them and then they leave before the court date and escape any record the next landlord can find in his screening. The biggest problem is there are more renters than there are landlords. That means more potential voters.
There have been talks about setting up a database like you mention. The legal hurdles scare most of us.
I tried to reach out to a few landlords in my area to set one up on the down low. Unfortunately most of the landlords in this area make more money thru evictions so they don't mind a bad tenant. Slumlords I believe is the best term for them.
If we could collaborate, which landlords are known not to do, and get something rolling I would be very interested. --47.248.xxx.xxx |
