I'm in the doghouse at home...

Spouse and I had an agreement, goal one was retiring from the day job. That was accomplished several years ago. Step two was to divest out of rental management so we can travel and spend time together. I've been working on that for 3 years now as my son has taken over a few. So far, so good. I haven't bought a property in 3 years so I'm doing good.

That changed this week, I guess I'm addicted. I couldn't help it, a fixer upper out of an estate, at a fantastic price. I'm buying out partial ownership from 3 individuals that don't speak to each other. I negotiated price with each separately. My justification to the wife was I'll fix it up and turn it over to my son so it's a short-term time investment, she can schedule 3 more cruises with the proceeds. It's a paper-thin veil, I know, but she didn't complain too much.

Oh well, the best goals have bumps along the way. I may need therapy to get over this addiction.

Only question is-- RC, Princess, Norwegian? Galveston, Miami, somewhere else? Alaska, Europe, Asia, Caribbean? So many details missing. :)

I find myself asking WHY more often.

Once you hit your passive income goal and you then hit your door goal, why look for more places.

Deanna, Ha, pretty sure it won't be the Carribean, we've worn that out. My guess is she will schedule somewhere in Europe, Iceland, or Asia. Still places to see there. She will tell me where after she visits with the travel agent. She likes Viking or Celebrity but she said something about trying Silver Seas so who knows.

RB, why did you use both terms Female and Wife? Contrary to the vocal minority, those are both terms for the female gender. Take your own advice.

Ned, that's exactly what happened. An estate attorney that I've gotten deals from over the years called me. He had an estate where siblings weren't ready to sell so they simply recorded split ownership to close the estate. Now, months later they are arguing/not speaking to each other and they want out. I'll send my attorney friend our standard $1000 for the lead after closing.

6, that was part of the wife agreement, get rid of stuff we have to take care of. That includes no more animals when ours die.

Zero, It's all about your network. I wasn't even looking; it was someone in the people-network of sources I built up over the years when I was actively growing my business. He called me with it out of the blue. I thought he had retired as well but apparently not. If you want more deals, I encourage you to build up your network. The more eyes you have looking the more deals you will net.
