For those with wifi, (RING requires wifi) I just got an email from RING with big discounts.
Basic RING doorbell now $49, marked down from $99.
$110 off basic starter set.
Reminder: We have several SimpliSafe systems we move from project to project, the shop, etc because it does not require wifi, only a cellular signal from the satellites. I just bought another starter kit for w new project at Sams for $110? Needs wifi for video.

Simplisafe still needs wifi for video, right?
I have wifi at one open place where I just have Simplisafe motion detectors. I didn't think video was an option without wifi.

My ADT sensors are slowly going kaput. Lost a door sensor this week. The thing popped apart. Door doesn't get used. The temps are fine. It's frustrating. Also I can't put another sensor in without getting an ADT guy in here.
Hopefully that's the final straw and we will switch over to SimpliSafe at our house as well. Lots of windows here, but the monthly sub is so much cheaper it will pay for itself soon. --107.147.xx.xx |

My goodness! Are you in a high crime area? Maybe promoting it an an amenity?
I used the SS system to close on a house sale. "If I give you the SS will you buy the house?" They were more excited about the SS than the house!
Careful with the used SimpliSafe systems.
I've bought several on ebay without a hitch.
But the older models need an upgrade ship from SS. They are good about sending them for free but it's a hassle and burns up my time on the phone, then wait for the shipment.
My helper just spent 2 hours on the phone to upgrade one of our own base stations we changed to a different property.

The deal he is talking about is actually from SS. They have a presence on Ebay and Amazon.
I bought a used system form a guy locally and had to wait for a new chip as well. If I needed it in service right then I would have been in trouble.
I wish that they would allow you to activate and deactivate all online. That is a flaw in their system, but I guess it is so they can hype the upgrades. --107.147.xx.xx |
