I'm interested in a property in an estate. I have the name of the estate and some information about the family. How can I find who is the executor to send them an offer? I've never offered on an estate prior, am I going about this correctly? --135.134.xx.x |

Ken--Recorder of Deeds has nothing to do with it.
Wills are probated in the county where the deceased last resided. Every state has a different procedure and name. Penna. has the Register of Wills, NJ has the Surrogate's Office. FInd out what this office is called in the state where the deceased last lived and contact the one in the county of last residence, if the will has been probated then the info will be public record. --73.188.xx.xxx |

Register of wills and recorder of deeds are often the same office/person. --24.152.xxx.xx |

In my fairly large, urban county, there is a probate court that handles this. You'll find the relevant documents by doing a search for the deceased person's name. The executor and their mailing address will be on those docs. I got the executor's phone number on my last purchase by calling the rather incompetent lawyer handling the estate. --104.230.xxx.xxx |

My experience is the same as Robin's. I would go (on-line) to my local probate court and check the name of the estate/ decedent. That would give me the name/contact info of the executor and/or his attorney. --71.38.xx.xxx |

You can "Google" the decedent's name to see if there was any required estate advertising posted online. In PA, that has to be in a local newspaper and a county law journal, so I check on the websites of those papers. The ad would give the name of the executor and/or lawyer handling the estate.
Good luck! --74.109.xx.xx |

This is an excellent niche to follow repeatedly. People are dying daily. Deal machine has a feature that allows you to do this search but they at $99 a month --173.188.xx.xxx |
