Hi fellow LL,
Have you guys ever had a prospect showing you a passport card as a form of photo ID? It's a passport that has the exact same shape/size as any credit cards to fit in a regular wallet. It has exact same info as passport such as: photo, name, DOB, nationality, place of birth, passport number, etc. However it doesn't have some info that driver's license has such as: height/weight, address, eye/hair color, etc.
He drove to the property for the viewing. So he must have a regular driver's license. It's weird that he submitted his passport card instead when applying. Almost all prospects here submits driver's license for photo ID. What do you guys think? Is he trying to hind something?

I've had a few try it and they do that to hide their address. One lady that used it told me she was moving "Because the owner was selling". She used a random house for sale as her current address but after doing some digging I found that she wasn't affiliated with that house in any way and that she owed her current landlord over $20k in rent and was finally being evicted. --140.209.xxx.xx |

Did you specifically ask for a driver's license, or did you ask for photo ID? If it has his photo on it, then it is probably a better ID than the driver's license. If he has had his license suspended , for DUI or anything else, that should show upon his criminal background check. --76.178.xxx.xxx |

Jason[VA]. I had that thought (he wanted to hind his current address) as well but his paystubs showed his address. So I thought maybe that wasn't the reason. I know that driver's license number could be used for more checking. I wonder if he tries to avoid that.
Oregon Woodsmoke [ID]. Nope, I didn't specifically ask for driver's license. I simply said photo ID. If his driver's license got suspended, he shouldn't be driving. If he gets caught driving with suspended license, he would go to jail (aka that would be LL problems b/c rent would stop) --99.128.xxx.xxx |
