Valspar paint, Agreeable gray, trying to get inside of mobile home repainted, is it ok to mix remnants of (2) 5 gallon buckets, one is eggshell finish and the other is satin?

Would it be better to just go as far as possible with 2 separate buckets? --216.126.xx.xxx

When I started out I would mix 20 gallons together to get enough paint I would mix gloss and flat together. --99.23.xxx.x

I do it all the time ... Mix well. Keep a small jar of paint for touch up. Or plan on buying and repainting... Which usually happens. I'm tired of storing paint and trying to keep it consistent. I'm too old to care any more! --172.59.xxx.xx

I just did something similar at the current flip house. I had a five gallon pail of grey but it was semi-gloss. I mixed in a lot of flat white. Looks good enough. Sheen was lessened.

Will never be able to match it completely but I was selling the place so I didn't care.

Now my kid is taking the place so I hope that I have enough left over for her to keep for touch ups.

I just bought 20 gallons of agreeable grey in eggshell. This is planned to be my new go to color when I have to repaint an entire place. --107.147.xx.xx

When I talk about scaling and installing systems, I mean having that one go to color in that one finish so you are trying to store that one off color.

Use one style flooring, paint, Lock, door knobs, window, furnace, appliance. --98.17.xx.xxx

I am slowly doing just that, Ray.

Still have some of the mistint paints that I bought at good prices. But I was using antique white for years on all the rentals. The mistinits were for flips or side projects.

Then I made a call to change my color scheme to the gray spectrum. Have the paint (because they had a BOGO sale), but have yet to use it.

Should be able to get rid of even more of the off color stuff when I work on my daughter's house so they can sell it. Then no more mistint or off color stuff will come in.

Eggshell grey for the walls, semi-gloss white for the trim and doors and flat white for the ceilings.

I already use the same brand of locks, although the styles change depending on what I have on hand. In my duplexes I keep the outside knobs all the same.

No joy on the windows as I rarely replace them and sometimes one manufacturer has a great deal. Furnaces are the same. I use the same guy but he recently switched vendors, which actually saved me money. Same thing with appliances. Bought those from HD last year, but they do not all match. A lot of the time I was buying used instead of new. Slowly changing that.

Flooring and wall tile is a different beast for me tho. I have been buying those from auctions. I make sure that I get enough for the task at hand, plus some spares for damages. On some I have bought enough for two full jobs. Every place doesn't match up with the next one.

Now if I stopped buying at auction and started buying in bulk then I could have one pallet of flooring and one pallet of wall tile. That would take up considerably less space for sure. --107.147.xx.xx

I am simply too cheap to let good paint go. So when I mix two different kinds of paint, and when you buy a place, it seems they come with that extra gal hidden in the basement, I label it closet mix. --98.17.xx.xxx
