I use landlord locks. I have used vestibule handle sets, use key to open from the outside and just turn from the inside to open the door to get out. But has anyone used any other solution that is self locking? Like a lever set or keypad lock? How has it worked for you? This is an entrance for a triple decker, so it would be used by more than one unit.

I have an office building with an Ultraloq deadbolt that self-locks. I liked it so much, I tried buying some refurb'ed Ultraloqs for my rooming house, but the vendor sent me Sifely's instead. The handle-d Sifely's on the individual rooms automatically lock, but the Sifely deadbolt on the front door does not. I have it paired with a pitcher-handle-type doorknob. (aka no lower lock.) I remind everyone to manually lock the front door coming and going, but some are better than others with compliance. Eventually I'll replace it with an Ultraloq like I originally intended. --172.58.xxx.xxx |

But all the codes are controlled by a digital app. I have another office building with a non-digital keypad, but that one is a lot harder to program, and once it's programmed, it's a lot harder to monitor. I thought it came with a cd, for use with a laptop, but perhaps I was imagining things. It has a specific piece of hardware for being able to "see" the usage audit. --172.58.xxx.xxx |

A storage room lock where a key will open door along with self closure to ensure door closes automatically. Another option is install a Mircom controlled entrance system where a basic system where there is phone type handset in apartment where the tenant will open lock so guest can open door. --216.110.xxx.xxx |
