For your own personal home, what do you use or recommend? Ring Video Doorbell camera or Blink or other. Would prefer battery powered vs solar powered or hard wired. Thanks!

Depends if you want them for security or to monitor UPS/pets/etc. If you're using them for security, nothing less than hard-wired with a cloud feed would do. Wifi and wireless signals are cheap and easy to defeat. --165.85.xxx.xxx |

I've been using Arlo WiFi wireless cameras at my home for many years. They only need to be recharged about every six months.
One thing to watch for is the monthly subscription cost. Some don't charge some do. When I bought my Arlo cameras a subscription wasn't required. With new systems they do require a subscription. --20.94.xxx.xxx |

I have used quite a few different brands.
I do like Blink at the rentals while they are vacant - easy to hook up - easy to mount - easy to view - etc. I do even have a couple of these at my personal home.
I have used Arlo - had several running at my personal home for a while - these were the older ones withOUT a subscription fee. They do well for what they are - battery charges do last a while. The company has switched to a PAY platform, though, so I can't add any new cameras. That is a bit disappointing.
I have also used Eufy cameras at both main home and rentals. They have been very useful - they do record 24/7, so you can go back and look at things you may not have noticed when it was happening. I like the ones I have. They are powered via a 110 line, so no battery worries.
I am now using wired ReoLink at the main home. No complaints so far, but they are pretty new to me.

I like the Eufy E330 out door cameras for the mid term rentals. They are powered by a cable so you need an outlet nearby. They connect via wifi to a home base that with a SSD records. You can access the feed and playback via your phone.
If you don't have power they have solar options and floodlights and doorbell options.
No subscriptions. Order on Amazon. --65.188.xxx.xxx |

I use Blink at home and at one rental. I like the ease of use and no subscription is required. It replaced a wired Swann system that went on the blink at the rental. The Swann system was a PITA in comparison. Batteries generally have a decent life. You can adjust the motion settings on the camera to be less sensitive to preserve batteries. --172.56.xxx.xx |

Another vote for Eufy. I do have a Blink cam that I use here and there. W/o a subsciption, you have to have the connection module and an attached usb drive to store and recall video. Not so with the Eufy app. --64.246.xxx.xx |

I had a lot of Yi cams. Cheap and easy to use. I didn't buy the script package so I only get 6 seconds of recorded view and it stays for a week then poof. Live view is indefinite.
Then they decided they needed more money so now they spam you while viewing and have ads that you have to go thru before you can see what triggered the camera.
Bah on that.
I have them at the flip house right now. All hard wired for electric and they use wifi.
Bought Blink and like them a lot. Two doorbell cams, hardwired, and then a lot of plug in cams all over outside. I have no battery only cams. I do have the gizmo to avoid subscriptions.
I like them. They are cheap and I have a couple spares in case one dies on me. Got more during Prime Days.
POE would be safer but this is just one layer of defense at the house so I am fine with it for now. --107.147.xx.xx |

For security recommend a Ip recorder and Ip cameras where Wifi can be spoofed to not work. Depending on the amount of cameras where Ip recorders can hook up 4 or 8 or 16 cameras. 8 camera will give 360 degree coverage around the house> In the house using a Reolink system where there are other brands. Can check out security CCTV camera systems on Amazon or Ebay.. Night vision and good resolution is important. Ip camera record system is one time expense where can connect to house Wifi then can monitor house if out and about. --216.110.xxx.xxx |
