Anyone ever used the garage epoxy paint that you sprinkle the paint chips over for an inside the house application? I have a master bed and bath on concrete that I need a floor finish on. It’s a solid C neighborhood.so I’m looking for fast and durable --107.77.xxx.xxx |

I wouldn’t use that in living space. You can, but why not just tile it or put vinyl plank? --24.152.xxx.xx |

I just got an epoxy floor in a commercial space. It was $4500 for 600 sq ft.
As NE(PA) said, LVP is probably cheaper to install. --65.188.xxx.xxx |

My dad did that in our home back in 1969 when the product fumes were terrible. It had to air out for days. The new floors lasted real well, but the house had plywood floors over a crawl space. The floor developed minor cracks at the plywood seams. --23.245.xxx.xx |

I used it in a walk out basement. Still looks great... the floor has radiant tubes so I was reluctant to put "layers" on top reducing the heat.
It stinks as it is a chemical reaction. I set fans up to draw fresh air in ... and stink out. There is a paste used to cover/fill cracks and chips. Use this paste sparingly the epoxy is not "thick enough" to cover the paste.
Problems occur if the goop is not mixed properly. FOLLOW the directions to a"T". --198.168.xx.xxx |

Never tried it before as I have only ever had dirt or gravel garage floors. That would be interesting to see inside of a house and to get feedback on it from the tenants. --73.19.xxx.xx |

My brother had it put on his outside front porch because he had it done in his new house in another town and liked it. I think it's a nice pattern and looks good; his neighbor said it looked tacky. On a house he expects to sell for at least $750,000 I would have done it in a garage. Others in his neighborhood have done it in their garage. I can imagine it would be slippery in winters here.
PLENTY: Thanks for the info. --75.11.xx.xx |

Watch out on how you toss the chips.
Local Fastenal company built a new store. They put the epoxy down over the entire floor. One of the employees wanted to toss the chips and ended up nearly dumping them all in one spot. Looks goofy. Wasn't so many that the epoxy didn't smooth them out, but it looked odd for sure and was a conversation starter.
On a slab I guess I could see it in a kitchen, laundry or mechanical room. I am not sure I would want to put it in a bedroom, but that would depend on the area and expectations. --107.147.xx.xx |

MikeA,
We paint a LOT of floors, porches, and garage floors.
We simply use Lowes Floor PAINT. 30 minutes to refresh a floor.
Roll a 3 foot row and toss SOME sprinkles UP so they fall more randomly. Go easy on the sprinkles, less is more.
We do NOT add a top coat "glaze" so it's super easy to touch up later.
Our common colors are Battleship Grey and Mudslide Brown.
First, test the concrete for moisture - tape down a 12 x 12 piece of plastic overnight and check it for moisture.
