Thanks in advance. --76.117.xxx.xxx

You "should" pull the carpet back and remove the urine stained padding first. Then treat the hardwood or concrete. Then shampoo the carpet and the backing. Apply em-zines and have a circulating fan. Then lay down new padding and install a vapor barrior between the carpet and the padding. RE-tack down/stretch the carpet back into place. Then install a security camera. --47.155.xx.xxx

Use cleaning vinegar where apply vinegar or rent a rug doctor where then use procedure to remove urine. If there is under pad then will have to clean a few times. Again can view videos on You tube on how to use a rug doctor. Commercial carpet cleaning machines have more powerful motors along with more suction. --216.110.xxx.xxx

It is very difficult to get rid of urine from carpet. It will probably be easier to replace the carpet with some kind of hard surface so it can just be wiped up in the future. --209.205.xxx.xx

Another option is cut that area of carpet than buy a good quality commercial porcelain tiles. If there is a wood subfloor recommend installing Schluter ditra membrane to keep the area water tight. --216.110.xxx.xxx

Stop the source first. Somehow the urine got there. It coupled be car, dog, human........

Having an environment that allows this to exist isn't good. Urine in padding is going to be a headache for quite some time to come. You might want to consider better flooring that allows for mistakes to happen and clean up without leaving that smell. Carpet is NOT one of them --67.140.xx.xxx

I also vote for getting rid of the carpet in that area.

After you rip it out then clean the subfloor, the base trim, the door and up the walls a bit.

Once cleaned use something like OdorXit to kill off anything that is lingering.

Curious what caused the issue as well. --107.147.xx.xx
