Little know fact. Big fan here. I did art and printing for an event hosted by USA fans in celebration of their success. The Carpenter's were even more popular out side the USA. Japan especially. --172.59.xxx.xx

Well,

While we are talking little known facts. The Hamburger sandwich was created in New Haven!

Louis Lunch, a restaurant in New Haven, Connecticut, is often credited with inventing the first hamburger sandwich in 1900. The story goes that owner Louis Lassen created the burger to fulfill a customer's request for a quick and easy-to-eat meal. He used ingredients intended for a steak sandwich, including broiled ground beef and toasted bread. The restaurant still serves their original burger, made with the same methods and on the original cast-iron grills. --96.231.xxx.xx

Something I wasn't aware of until recently through YouTube, Karen was a great drummer. Some of her solos show real talent, we're talking in the company of Buddy Rich, John Bonham, Niel Peart, etc. --108.69.xxx.xxx

Karen was a talented drummer and played drums in many of their recordings. She was also very entertaining while doing so and if you've even seen her sing and play the drums, well then you know her talent. --172.59.xxx.xxx

Look up you tube Karen Carpenter playing the drums and sings "Dancing in the Street" she was 19 years old. She was also named best drummer of the year by Rolling Stones Magazine. She didn't know she could sing, it just came out. There are many lesser known songs that , will wow your heart. Amazing lady, gone too soon. Forever talented in time. --172.59.xxx.xxx

And she played the guitar also on some on their early studio recordings. She was self taught on drums and guitar and had only one voice lesson, the coach said to trainer would be to change her and her voice was perfect. She didn't know she could sing, it just poured out of her. I could go on. It's a passion of mine --172.59.xxx.xxx

I loved Karen Carpenter! My mom and I went to her concert in Milwaukee.

When I moved out of the house I used to go to the library to listen to her albums as you couldn't take them out in those days...and I didn't have a record player anyway.

Now I have some of her albums but You Tube with headphones does the trick...I could go on and on too.

When she played those drums; and her iconic voice! --75.11.xx.xx
