I often check out the downstate news and there seems to be an explosion of animal clashes, most likely brought on by the prevalence of ESAs and tenants having pets in general.
This is inevitable with all the animals out in public places, stores and apartments. Will this cause you to demand renter's insurance that covers their animals in the event of the predictable animal fights and all the damages that result?

Around two years ago in Los Angeles, A blind man with his leashed "seeing eyes dog" entered Ralph's Market to shop for stuff. Shortly after that, a man with his "ESA" dog, not on a lease, entered the same market. When the Fake ESA dog saw the Seeing Eyes dog, it attacked the dog and it's master.
The seeing eye dog needed to be hospitalized, stitches ,etc. Also the owner of the seeing eye dog was taken to the hospital.
The manger of Ralph's market, contacted legal and said, "I don't care what California Law makers say about allowing people with Fake ESA dogs, or animal control, We have to protect those who can't protect themselves".
Within a hour, all 2240 Ralph's stores in California, Banded ESA dogs, unless they had Proof of a condition and proof the dog was trained. --47.155.xx.xx |

Saw a guy that I used for trashouts and such in a Walmart the other day with a little dog in his cart.
Dog was slobbering all over the place. Not a service animal, probably not a true ESA.
Makes me angry that people just do this. I don't want dog spit or hair all over my stuff. Bad enough I have to deal with the employees and regular shoppers.
Same thing happens at Lowes all the time. I am not at Pet Smart, I am trying to buy construction materials. I don't want to trip over a dog on a long leash.
How did it get to this point? People are too scared to do anything about it. I mentioned something to an employee who shrugged and basically said oh well. --107.147.xx.xx |

Robert J is, as usual, just making things up to tell a story.
California does not (and did not in the past) have any laws (or "animal control") saying that ESAs were allowed in stores. They are covered under federal law just like in other states and that applies only to housing.
So, there was no need for Ralph Market's legal team to say "I don't care what California Law makers say" because California had no such law. Ralph's was able to ban ESAs from the stores at ANY time with no law preventing that.
In fact, since Ralph's Market sells food, ESAs actually should have already been banned from entry since health laws disallow all animals except for actual Service Animals.
So, the entire thing is garbage talk by Robert J. If Ralph's was allowing ESAs in their stores before, then that was their fault and this attack is likely partially their fault -- not some California law that doesn't exist except in Robert J's mind.

lowes etc doesnt block ESA because they know most of there employees are not capable of making the distinction between ESA and legit service dogs and dont want the lawsuits. As an example i have a guy about 30 who cleans out houses for me, that is the extent of his capabilities and he goes to work at home depot and now is head cashier, complete idiot,i honestly doubt his ability to count back change without the register telling him how much to give back, this is how desperate home depot is.he couldnt distinguish between the dogs,i am sure of that. --38.248.xx.xx |

I have reported animals to the store managers at Von's (grocery store, part of the Albertson's chain) and Target (which has a grocery section, and therefore Public Health Laws ban animals). Neither manager cared at all. I then reported these violations to the Health Department, which did not care.
I doubt there is anything more I can do!

[[[[[[........ lowes etc doesnt block ESA because they know most of there employees are not capable of making the distinction between ESA......]]]]]]
Any place I have ever lived, Lowes does not block ESAs because they do not block any dogs. Dogs are welcome and several of the clerks carry dog biscuits in their pockets and back when they had a greeter at the door, the greeter had dog biscuits to hand out.
Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, any farm supply store, any bank I have ever banked at, they all welcome dogs. However, because most of the Lowes and HD employees can not even tell you what the items in the store are used for, I'm sure that they are not competent to recognize a legitimate ESA. The employees at the Ace hardware stores tend to be pretty knowledgeable about home repairs, but even so, they might not be competent to decide whether or not a dog is a service dog
Few places have employees competent to make the distinction and because a lawsuit might hang on their decision, it is safer for the store to ignore the dogs. --76.178.xxx.xxx |

Ken, I use a fake name anytime we order food. Don't want a tenant, current or ex, to know where I live.
We also worry about what a disgruntled ex-tenant might do to the food. It is prepared bad enough the normal way, no sense in adding to the drama.
Due to location we rarely have food delivered, but I had couple tenants that were door dashing. One is an ex that owes me a bit of change. The current tenant is a drama queen. I could just see her showing up because she had another spat with her adult son who lives with her.
Also I worry about a person who must have an ESA with them to buy a 2x4. Those rules and laws will never be removed, but they are horrible. --107.147.xx.xx |

I was in Lowes yesterday and while I was talking with the appliance guy we heard two dogs fighting somewhere in the store. Sounded like big dogs.
How would you like to be walking along and get stuck in the middle of a dog fight even tho you have no dog?
He told me that the manager in plumbing will not go down an aisle if there is a dog of any kind in it. She refuses, even if she is helping a customer.
Once I left him I went over to grab some lumber. As I was loading it onto the cart I saw down at the end of the store a big pit type dog, standing next to the idiot that brought it in. It was just staring in my direction.

Sounds tough, but the reality is that if you were attacked by a pitbull in one of those stores, you wouldn't know how the dog left because he would have won that battle before you could even pull your gun out.

Actually, ESA horses, pigs, alligators and etc. should descend on these places to force them to address this nonsense. The only dog that should be in the store is a seeing eye dog. --172.56.xxx.xxx |

Had to dig this up. This is the video of the guys riding their horses into Walmart. One of them claims his horse is an ESA. The police charged them with disorderly conduct among other charges. None of the charges had anything to do with the ESA claim. We need more ridiculousness like this to put the whole notion of ESA on trial.
