Since real estate has jumped, many Post Office Locations lost their lease to developers. So My post office close by closed and the burden of delivery has gone to the next closest post office, 6 miles away. So the postal carrier that could not deliver the mail by close of business day, then trashes the mail, not going to complete delivery on a Sunday.

I have lost many rental checks this way. I even caught a delivery guy throwing mail into the trunk of his car. They Postal Inspector and FBI did NOTHING!

So I have my tenants pay rent thru one of the following ways:

1) They can transfer funds thru Zelle, Pay Pal or Bank Wire Transfer.

2) Make deposit into one of my local banks.

3) In apartment properties, I have in the common hallways a DROP SLOT, that goes into a steel metal safe in closet. Bolted to the foundation.

4) The the manager a check in an envelope. --47.155.xx.xx

It amazes me that all the bad things in the world and all the crooked people in the world just happen to have dealings with robertj.

Scott, I do not want mail sent to me for rents. My people either drop it off at the credit union or have electronic payments thru Innago.

I have had someone PayPal me funds years back and I have used Venmo for first rent and SD. No issues either way.

I think they can claw back the PayPal so be careful there. --107.147.xx.xx

I have a lot of tenants that mail payments. Once in a while a payment is lost and delivered late. As for being lost and never delivered that almost never happens.

I don't accept Paypal or anything similar. --99.33.xx.xxx

It's 2025.

Our local PO is now not open on weekends, closes at noon every day for an hour and at 4pm for the day, the clerk took out the trash can so no one could throw junk ail away and too much of the POB mail is incorrectly delivered. The mail delivery people are all sub-contractors. Just not reliable or convenient.

Most of my tenants probably don't own checks. My youngest son is 37, has had a checking account since he was sixteen, doesn't own checks and has never written a check in his life, pays for everything online.

We only do electronic payments. My tenants and all prospects love it. --173.28.xx.xxx

The main post office that I use is similar.

Closes every day from 1130 to 1230 which is the time that most people take lunch. I asked the postmaster about it once and he said the union wouldn't let him make a person stay and take a later lunch.

Then they are only open until noon on Saturday and they close daily at 4pm. They lock everything up so you can't even go in to check your box.

Very inconvenient, but I have had the same PO Box for over 25 years and I hate the idea of changing to a different town. --107.147.xx.xx

I'll take rent any way a tenant wants to pay, as long as it lands directly into my bank account with no effort from me. --162.204.xxx.xxx
