Yes, I know Matt Walsh is a Conservative. Don't watch if that flips you out.
On the other hand, don't watch if extreme entitlement flips you out either:

Last year went for private medical procedure in Hamilton Ontario where around the city hall and the YWCA seen a lot of homeless people where seen a lot of empty liquor bottles where some maybe have other addiction problems where if you live in democracy force treatment is not possible then some others have mental health issues. In the long run it maybe better to provide treatment so they can join the workforce then pay taxes. Once they are in treatment then housing can be provided. If the economy gets worse then people who are laid off will be become homeless as well. As tariffs continue then there will be inflation along economic decline where a tariff is a tax where the end consumer always pays. The stock market continues to go downward where the counter tariffs are in effect here so on both sides of the border there is going to be inflation. --216.110.xxx.xxx |

Dang, you and I are on a wavelength today, WMH! I just watched that video this morning.
Love him or hate him: Walsh is correct that there is a certain segment of the population who thinks like this. We've seen them occasionally apply for our rentals, though thankfully I believe sending a link to our Qualification requirements out with email/text responses has helped thin the herd.
To them, "freedom" isn't opportunity to seek improvement and fulfill a lifelong dream of some worthwhile endeavor: it's "You can't tell me what to do!" Like a petulant child crossing his arm and throwing a tantrum.
Likely drugs and mental illness are a factor. That free Govt apartment was better than some of the military barracks I stayed in while enlisted in the Army. I would've felt like a king had I been given access to that!

Feral people. I never considered the possibility that the homeless don't want to be housed, even if it's free. --162.204.xxx.xxx |

From a FB tenants union.
"Our leaders and representatives need to pay attention NOW! óThis is a monumental event that will certainly lead into escalating issues with homelessness in our community.
KATU will be outside of eviction court tomorrow to offer support and resources to those that are facing eviction. This is an unprecedented number of families set for trial, and we are prepared to stand in solidarity with those undergoing this difficult day. ¤ In most cases, landlords spend more money evicting a tenant, in lieu of negotiating with them. In addition, eviction leads to first time homelessness in the majority of instances. Eviction court is the hidden driving force behind homelessness in our community and now at a record high - we must keep people sheltered.
BASIC NEEDS = HUMAN RIGHTS"
Maybe this is why I am not getting good prospects?

Robert from Canada, these people are not on the streets because of the economy and tariffs won't fix them or hurt them either.
Back in the day, the ACLU sued the US Government for holding people like this "against their will" in treatment facilities. They were turned loose with no plans, no help, nothing. The problem has only expanded exponentially in the years since. In states
We can't force treatment on those who don't want it, and those who want it can't afford it. --72.82.xx.xx |

Because of a commercial property I own I come across many homeless people. They do not want housing because it comes with restrictions on drugs, alcohol and behavior.
In 20 years I have only met a few that were within a normal range mentally.
I agree with Robert from Cananda. No amount of housing will fix this problem as the issues are largely addiction or mental illness. --99.33.xx.xxx |

Any day they can choose a different life style. It's not a problem for them, perhaps we shouldn't make it a problem. --172.59.xxx.xxx |
