Satisfaction piece in Pa if you had a mortgage. Otherwise nothing really. Deed may read “cash in hand paid”. Why would you need to do this outside a title search for purchase/sale? --24.152.xxx.xx |

If I had just bought the property and paid all cash at closing, I would submit the Closing Statement.
When you pay off a mortgage, the mortgage company should submit a form (which gets recorded in the public record) that says you have satisfied all terms of the mortgage which includes the pay-off information. --76.29.xxx.xx |

To who? a bank? they will want to see a title search showing the house is paid off,a satisfaction is fine but that doesnt show a new mortgage after that date of the satisfaction --74.77.xx.xx |

I assume we're taking "free and clear of any loans", not other things like liens, ownership disputes or other things like a lis pendens that cloud the title.
The only way I know to do it is with a title search, and even that's not 100% fool proof, but about as close as you can get.
Once upon a time when I found out how low the quality assurance was at the county recorder of Deeds, I asked them, "So I could file a Quit Claim deed for the State Governor's mansion granting ownership of the property to myself, and you'd record it?" They said "Yes."
Talk about a funny way to cloud a title!
Curious, who's asking for proof?

Where you are asking this, maybe it would be wise to ask.....whom can find out if my property is free and clear. --174.131.xxx.xxx |

Pmh, "free and clear" is the part that's not provable. Anyone can prove they own a property ...it's public record, I'd guess everywhere.
You can get a title search that says it's free and clear ... and the next 30 seconds someone can file a judgment or mortgage and voila, no longer free and clear.
Many, many years ago there was a rather disreputable guy in my area and he owned a considerable amount of real estte. He was getting sued all the time. He was selling a piece of property and many debts were to be paid off with the proceeds. The title company had a girl at the Prothonotary's Office, the Recorder's Office and the Register of Wills office at the same time to verify nothing was being recorded from the time the title search was finished through the bring down which was done immediately prior to settlement and they remained there until the title clerk ran to the court house to record the new deed and mortgage. --98.237.xxx.xx |

If I’m asked to prove i’m the owner, I tell my applicant to go next-door and talk to and I give him a name. They’ve known me for 30 to 40 years. I probably own the house if I’ve owned it for 30 or 40 years that usually stops the inquiry.
When I rent to someone, I make sure the tenant knows I know the neighbors on both sides. I’ve only had a couple of applicants walk away because they didn’t want a landlord, knowing their activities via the Neighbor. --99.23.xxx.x |
