Showed a home to five different voucher holders today. Three of the five had comments to share. Each has four children, so five people in a 3 bedroom home, which is code and each had a three bedroom voucher. Each of the three families had one child 3-4 years old, and the other three were 10-15 years old. THis home, as many, has theh primary bedroom (usually only mom occupying this room) and that would leave the four kids in the other two bedrooms. Bedroom is a medium size, decent size but the third bedroom is rather small, about 11 x 9-1/2 and they would put two teenagers in this room. Some were girls, some all boys, mostly alot of boys. ANYWAY the comments about the 3rd bedroom were, This bedroom will work for the two older ones. This bedroom is too small. ALL the bedrooms in this house are too small. It was an interesting day listening to their persepective of if the rooms were just right, to big, or too small. I'm sure our parents reaised more kids in less space and this ins't really an old house, it was build in the late 70's and had nice large closets. Of course there is the basement and I would expect after they get the keys there would be kids sleeoping the basement. Not sure how to limit the number of people when it's code two per bedroom, but mama get's her own room, and the biggest room. So i let them disqualify themself for one reason or another. I'm a bit exhausted trying to find the right size family for this home. All of the five showing today said they were leaving their current home due to it being too small. And there are voucher holders. After lunch is Nap time for Goldie Locks.

In the old days, families didn't accumulate as much 'stuff' as people do currently....thus the explosion of rental storage units. Garages weren't stuffed full of old furniture and "valuable" junk.

They have more kids than the money to feed them. If we could only fix that first. Go to your quiet place, wherever that may be, and meditate. --73.19.xxx.xx

6x6 very simple, feed and house there own kids and dont expect the rest of us to pay for it. In the old days folks were happy with what they could pay for themselves --143.198.xxx.xx

The problem is you. You didn't spend more for a house with bigger rooms so essentially you can pay Ts to be in it. --73.230.xxx.xx

I have many of house 1970's homes with small bedroom.

I flip it back at the folks. The bedrooms were designed smaller so you could have a larger living room. Imagine the opportunity ahead of you, actually talking with your kids face to face without receiving a text. --173.188.x.xxx

If they all have vouchers they should be happy with any free house. You did the right thing by passing. In my experience those sort of renters are entitled and are gonna be problems pass. --76.10.xxx.x

One of my 2/1 apartments has had a tenant in there for seven years. She has two kids, boy and girl.

When they first moved in the mom had one room (smaller of the two) and the kids shared a room. Think they were nine and eleven. Now he is 16 and she is 18. Mom moved her bed downstairs to the open concept living room so the kids could have their own rooms.

No voucher holder, just making do with what she has.

The current flip house I am working on has 3 bedrooms but one is 10 ft x 8 ft. Hoping someone wants it as a work from home office. --107.147.xx.xx

Some of my inquiries are six people. So if the only adult in the takes the Primary... That leaves five kids in those two bedrooms..not happening at my house. Image the wear and tear! Just had an inquiring with a three bedroom voucher with four people... One adult, three kids, now that works! Showing on Monday. --172.59.xxx.xxx

We are doing a rehab job for a "homeowner" in the small city next to us. The "homeowner" is getting a new tub, new sink, new toilet due to water leakage from old cast iron. It involves tearing out quite a bit of ceiling and flooring and correcting the plumbing.

All of this work is being paid for by a not for profit agency. You'd think they would be happy but instead they are treating it as a million dollar HGTV home makeover (this is a 150 yr old house). They are complaining left and right and think they will be getting a Martha Stewart House Beautiful type thing. We are there to make it safe and functional.

We run into this quite a bit. A total lack of gratitude. ANYONE who complains about ANYTHING during a tour is an instant DQ. --64.246.xxx.xx

Must be a different market there. I don't do S8 but have some friends that do. There is a significant shortage of properties that are not in the middle of the slums that take S8. By the time they make it through pre-screening to a viewing they are on their best behavior to be selected because of the shortage.

Life's too short to deal with critics. Enjoy your nap. --209.205.xxx.xx
