Anyone installed the ventless washer/dryer combo in any of their units, possibly placing them where the dishwasher sets in a kitchen? Wondering how they work for you; maintenance? And also, do the residents like them? I do know they’re small and don’t hold as much laundry for a load, but for just one or two people in a 1BR, I am thinking about it. --174.175.xx.xx |

If we are speaking about a single unit combo washer/dryer-- the size of a front loading washer with a drying element, that requires little venting, yes I've tried a few for customers (I'm a contractor).
For the washing part, it does a great job in around 30 to 40 minutes, depending on which cycle you choose. But the dryer takes between 2-1/2 to 3 hours to dry a small to medium load.
For a show piece, gimmick it works, just marginally. --47.155.xx.xx |

I have not tried one personally, but one of my tenants had one and hated it. --98.174.xxx.xxx |

They seem to be popular outside the USA. I'm seeing them being sold locally. Comparing might not be the best scale. When your use to things working a certain way --172.59.xxx.xx |

I had one at my office. As Robert says it takes forever to dry and it doesn't dry the clothes out like a separate dryer does. They remain slightly damp. Polyester not a problem but cotton never got dry dry. When it broke, the parts were unavailable.
As long as you have the space get a separate washer and dryer. Stack them if you need the linear space saved. --65.188.xxx.xxx |

They use a heat pump where clothes may not be completely dry like a clothes dryer. Some brands parts are really difficult to get. Better to buy a stack front load and dryer where dryer can be vented outside. If one breaks then repair or repair one only. --216.110.xxx.xxx |

If you're talking about the smaller stackable separate washer/dryer, I've used that type. Except for the smaller size loads, I really liked them. Being separate the dryer got the wash plenty dry. I have no maintenance or longevity information as that was a long time ago and no longer live there. --75.11.xx.xx |

They are used a lot in Europe and to a lesser extent in RV's in the US. There's a reason you see lots of clothes on a line as you travel through Europe. They do a horrible job of drying. --209.205.xxx.xx |

We put one of the GE combo washer/dryers in an apartment where it would have been hard to vent a dryer properly, and our tenant (65-year-old woman) absolutely loves it. It's a big unit and expensive, but we raised the rent we were asking to cover the costs of buying and installing it. So far no problems. --108.215.xxx.xx |
