BANKS TWP., Pa. - A Carbon County community is in shock.

Police say Pogzeba was killed when Eroh fired a shotgun through the wall of his twin home.

Now, some people in Banks Township are wondering why.
Court paperwork provides a clue about might have led to the 25-year-old man firing a shotgun at his home on Berwick Street. It states Eroh was hearing voices, and he believed there were listening devices in his home.
When police arrived, they say they found a number of holes through a wall in the suspect's bathroom, giving him a direct view into Pogzeba's house, likely to target him.
Neighbor Shirley Ciculya says crime in the community is few and far between.
"I want to say no crime at all," said Ciculya.
Violent crime, she says, is practically unheard of.
"This has never happened before. It's terrible, it's frightening, and hopefully, it won't be ever happen again," said Ciculya.
"There were a lot of cop cars and stuff. The coroner's truck was there and everything, so I figured that it was something pretty serious," explained Benjamin Ochner, a neighbor.
"I was, like, shocked. I even told my coworkers, like, I can't believe somebody died, like, right around the corner from me," said Crystal Silva, who lives nearby.
People we spoke with at a nearby store say it makes you realize the unimaginable can happen.
"I could be sitting on my couch and something like that, God forbid, can happen. It's scary," said Silva.
"Nobody thinks anything, anything about a shooting. Just get a gun and shoot somebody," added Ciculya. "That was never, ever the mind thought years ago."
Police say when they showed up, Eroh told them to stay off his property. He then ran back inside his home and closed the door on them, according to court paperwork.
Officers then forcibly entered. During a search, they discovered a number of guns, including the shotgun they say was used in the killing.
Meantime, neighbors say they want people to know this is not the norm for their quiet community.
"Don't let this one thing scare people from coming over here," urged Silva.
Eroh is charged with homicide, aggravated assault, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, and recklessly endangering another person.
He was denied bail and is due back in court Feb. 5.
