The first residents of my new MTR have informed me that the one-handle shower valve is plumbed backwards.
When you first turn it, it is hot. When you turn it further it gets cooler.
I installed the supply line & valve myself.
I SWEAR I put the supply lines on the correct sides.
Is there a way for this to happen in the valve itself?
I know I can turn the little toothed disk (you know what I mean?) to adjust how far the handle turns. Could that be in wrong, or something else "easy"?

For the Deltas, the entire valve comes out and you can spin it around to switch them. Usually easy to change with just an allen wrench.

Just tell them it's a metric valve!
I did that one time on a vanity. Tenant never said anything until he was moving out. Then it was just in passing.

So the hot is on the right side?
The only other way to correct that I can think of, is to cris- cross lines at the access panel.
I have put the control valves in 180 degrees out of phase before. A hack I now use is to use the pex control valves and put in the short color coded stubs in before installing the entire value in to the 2x4 support block. as long as the valve starts at the top, you should be good. --24.101.xxx.xxx |
