Hello All. Hey, of those of you who have shifted to all digital locks, what is your favorite?
I currently use the Schlage Camelot digital locks and I've been very satisfied with them. I change all batteries once a year so that I'm never bothered by tenants phoning with problems. The only issue that I've had occurred recently. One of the numbers was removed and tossed. I charged the damage to the tenant and use that one for parts in case future ones develop the same issue.
Anyway, there are more and more of these becoming available. What's your favorites and why? --69.131.xxx.xx |

DH has an Ultraloq deadbolt paired with a commercial metal door on an office building we have. It works really well. He has it connected to wifi, so he can manage it remotely if he needs to.
I tried buying an Ultraloq, but they sent me a Sifely, so I ended up buying a lot more Sifelies. I've primarily used them on residential doors, but also on one metal commercial door. It's worked really well, although it also works best on the sturdy commercial doors. (Our local soil is very shifty, so the thinner interior and exterior residential doors sometimes need adjusting.) The app is very user friendly, and I like the audit trail/activity log to see who tried accessing it, with what code, what day, what time, especially for doors that don't have a lot of activity. There are two different kinds-- one has a little button that you can slide so that no one can access it without a key. So, be cautious if you're in a situation where someone might accidentally play with that button and lock themselves out. There's a bit of a learning curve with my (international) tenants, but I like having codes for my trades guys--- plumbers, electricians, handyman--- especially when I'm out of town. I like that I can check the battery status, but only if I'm standing next to it with my phone.
I have a different commercial building with a glass and metal door. I got an Alarm Lock Narrow Stile lock (maybe the DL1200? I need to check.) It's non-digital, so there's a little bit of a learning curve as you channel your inner-80's/90's self to get it programmed, but once you get used to it, it's really easy. I thought that I could also run the audit trail for tracking access, but that seems to be a separate piece of (very pricey) hardware. (I could have sworn it came with a CD, but I think that was my imagination.) For a narrow-stile door, we had the locksmith install it, because it involved paper patterns and drilling through metal. --137.118.xx.xxx |

We use Kwikset HALO locks, but only on short term rentals. We can manage them remotely. The software isn't that great at alerting you if batteries are low, but it allows you to manage remotely. --34.100.xx.xxx |

I’m using the Schlage Encode locks for mid term rentals. So far I like the soft ware and the hardware. I set the visitors code to the last four of their phone numbers. The codes expire a day after expected check oit --174.245.xxx.xxx |

I use the Schlage Camelot also. I have to manually change and reset door codes between stays at my MTR.
I would love to have a lock that works from my phone, but they are in an older building that keeps shifting. --173.23.xx.xxx |

I use the Kwikset Aura for the rooming houses that I manage. Bluetooth, so I have to physically be there to delete/change a code. I chose that option because the owner was price-sensitive and it was cheaper than the locks with remote features.
You do need to download the Kwikset app to use it. Intall is a little tricky (to get the wiring harness out of the way), but doable. Features are excellent: I can access a usage log, set access to start/end whenever, and have multiple users. The software does "hang" occasionally; not sure whether it's the software or my phone.
If I were to start over, I'd probably pay the extra $50 for remote access. Can you imagine the joy of controlling access for a difficult tenant? "You've been trying for 15 minutes and can't get in? Hmmm, that's odd. Let's do a video call and show me what you're doing. Oh, wow, it opened!"
I don't want to start over with a new app and system, though, so I think I'll just stick with this one for the foreseeable future. --104.230.xxx.xxx |

Testing the Defiant non wifi keypad log from HD. So far so good (knock on wood). --64.246.xxx.xx |
