Feels and sounds like I have some sort of hamstring injury if google has anything to rely on. I’d really appreciate comments from anyone who has had an actual hamstring injury or known someone who did and went through the healing process.

What did you find to be helpful in your recovery, devices that were useful or any insight you may have. I have a walker, but my office is 3 flights downstairs.

Not going to a doctor yet.

My go-to for stuff like this is to look for information from Bob and Brad, the most famous physical therapists on the internet (in their opinion, of course)...

Something like: www.bobandbrad.com/program/how-to-treat-a-muscle-strain-or-tear-in-the-quad%2C-hamstring%2C-or-thigh-adductors%3F

or: www.bobandbrad.com/post/tens-program-series-18-how-to-use-a-tens-unit-with-a-hamstring-pain-or-strain-pad-placement

They have a ton of youtube videos you can search as well.

Fortunately, I have not had to deal with a hamstring injury, but have used their info to help with shoulder and back pain.

It sounds like you may not know how you hurt yourself. If that's the case, you should probably go ahead and make that Dr. visit to make sure it's not a blood clot. --98.174.xxx.xxx

JUST TIM: Thanks; Since I’m elevating the leg and semi laid up, I’ll be looking at those videos. I vaguely recognize the guys.

I know how this happened. Last night I was searching for my calendar, kneeled on the ground to see if it was under my desk. Heard a sound and a sharp pain. Forgot what type of sound due to the pain.

Hubby watching me navigate a walker this a.m. took one look and just had to comment “so this is what I have to look forward to…” as we both chuckled, and I shot him the stink eye. --75.11.xx.xx

I heard that sound when I slid down a bank trying to catch a stray kitten at a mall. I thought I'd broken my leg. "They" said it was a sprained ankle, but I've never had such pain.

It is still puffy around my ankle, so I wonder if I snapped a tendo? IDK but it was swollen, purple and I couldn't walk on it.

Sorry you hurt yourself, hope it gets better. --216.126.xx.xxx

OMG ,as that sounds like something I would do! Hope you are icing to get the swelling down. I don’t have that yet…

Luckily I took care of my Mom and watched her social worker give her tips how to safely shower when she broke her hip. Some of those tips came in handy.

RAY been resting quite a bit other than sending security deposits back via Zelle. --75.11.xx.xx

Oreo,

I'm not the Brad from YouTube but I did stay at a Holiday Inn!

I had a similar ailment and found that Chiropractic was effective and long lasting results.

The general physician simply offered muscle relaxant drugs and heating pads.

If you heard or felt something pop then mostly likely something slipped out of place. Chiropractors focus on putting pieces back where they belong over repeated visits AND

teaching you some exercises to strengthen those muscles and ligaments so this does not happen again.

Often the problem you FEEL is because something else is out of alignment creating a chain reaction.

OR Daughter20,000 and many famous athletes had a POP and the ligament connecting the calf muscle to the heel bone popped loose without any special strain on it. Simple, common surgery to reconnect, able to jog 9 months later.

BRAD: Thanks for the reminder. Yes yes chiropractors saved my life and sanity years ago! I went 3x a week for awhile.

I am enthusiastic to report doing quite well as I fall asleep this evening.Even took two hiking sessions today, albeit slower and less difficult than usual.

Exactly the same experience with a general physician. The relaxants were n I c e. Who can take them when you’re in pain at work? Or try to look professional at your desk job with a heating pad on your back.
