California Demo crats Propose $150k in Home Loans for Illegal Aliens

California Dem ocrats are proposing to give $150,000 in home loans to first-time home buyers who are illegal aliens.

AB 1840, proposed by Assemblymember Joaquin Arambula (D-Fresno), expands an existing program for first-time home buyers such that applicants”shall not be disqualified solely based on the applicant’s immigration status.”

The bill has already passed the California State Senate and is moving through the State Assembly — both dominated by Dem ocrats, who have supermajorities in both chambers.

Politico, covering the bill, almost seemed to suggest in its headline that Democrats ought to drop it because it will hurt Vice Presi dent Kamala Ha rris’s presidential campaign: “California Dems want to help undocumented immigrants buy homes – during presidential race,” it reported.

It noted:

A first-in-the-nation California proposal could make undocumented immigrants eligible for up to $150,000 in state-supported home loans just as immigration has become an incendiary topic in the presidential election.

Dem ocratic Gov. Gavin New som, a top surrogate for President Joe Bid en and Vice President Kamala H arris, declined to say whether he would sign the measure if it clears the statehouse by the Aug. 31 deadline. He would likely make a decision while Republican nominee Donald Tr ump criticizes Har ris over the influx in migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border early on in Bi den’s tenure and as Har ris moves to the right on immigration.

At the federal level, Harris herself is pushing a Bid en administration proposal to provide up to $25,000 in down payment assistance to first-time, first-generation homeowners, though undocumented immigrants would not qualify under federal law.

Americans were also told that illegal aliens would not be eligible for O bam acare, but California has since expanded Medi-Cal — the state Medicaid program, which was vastly expanded by Oba mac are — to include illegal aliens as well.

So it's going to be state funded, so let the people who vote these people in to pay for it. Its too bad to those that are in the minority that voted against them.

What a smack in the face to the legal immigrants. Those that went thru the process correctly and are legitimate citizens.

Not to mention the taxpayers who have to deal with the problems that illegals cause and then pay more to help them with buying a house.

At some point even the libs are going to figure out how bad it is, and by then it will be too late for anyone.

Of course the 150k won't buy a big portion of a house in CA, so what happens when they default?

When the illegals get that 150K they will immediately resell the place and pocket the cash.Then do the next one using a different name. (I ain't got no stinkin' ID - where's my free money!)

You will get the bill on your taxes.

So with $150K .... they can buy a shed? This is Cali.

You still have to qualify for a Fannie Mae backed regular loan for this to apply. All they did was remove the citizenship requirement to apply.

In other words, it won't apply to anyone. Do you know of any illegal immigrants that would qualify for a normal mortgage under Fannie Mae's income and credit requirements regardless of if they had $150,000 down payment or not?
