Our professional floor cleaner guy used the lightweight commercial hard-body Sanitaire model SC785, 50-foot cord vacuum since the early 2000's. We bought the same one in 2004 and it has been great, and easy for transporting at turnovers, etc. (The same model is no longer available, of course.)

But it's now time to replace. We would like the same features: lightweight commercial hard-body with 50-foot cord - with a bag (not bagless), for both hard floors and carpets.

Will be hard to find one with an opaque bag as everyone has gotten used to a clear container so that they can see the filth in real time.

Would have to go to place that sells commercial cleaning equipment. There are many brands of commercial vacuum cleaners. Google to find some close to where you live.Be prepared to pay a lot as those vacuums are expensive.

The hose assembly finally failed after 20 years! It has been discontinued and unavailable, but we finally just located one which is on order. We're hoping that we won't get the unwelcome news that they will be unable to fill the order.

This is an exceptional machine and is only 14 pounds! I will check the options you guys provided for finding a used one with hopes that one is still available.

An X girlfriend, 10 years my senor at 70, with a rich husband has the best vacuums for the 4 story home. It weighs a ton and doesn't have a complete HEPA Filter. This women with a broke her arm and couldn't lift the vacuum, hose and attachments with on arm/hand.

So I brought over my HEPA Lithium replaceable batteries, charger STICK VACUUM. To vacuum her 4000 square foot home, it would discharge any battery vacuum. But with removable and several back up batteries 4ah, 6ah and 18 ah, she could vacuum her whole house without recharging any of the batteries.

I asked he what she liked about the loner vacuum. She said:

1) The lighted head, she could see the dirt she was removing.

2) The unit had speeds and the head could be turned off with the push of a button. So she could go from carpet to hard wood in a fraction of a second.
