Wyze did similar. Got me hooked on $20 cameras and nice motion clips for free to my phone. Then they took the motion clips away unless you pay monthly. I understand it, monthly fees are the money makers. --207.113.xxx.xxx |

I talked to them about that and got them to give me the same deal as before with no wifi. Took me a few minutes but I did it.
I have two systems right now. One I have with the service. The other is dead to me. I can only use it in house. It does not let me know anything online because it is in a place with no wifi or internet at all.
Plan is to keep one going for now. Just finished the rehab and listed the place so I will move that unit to my storage building. --107.147.xx.xx |

I have been hit a couple times through my career. Not at least trying to protect myself is not an option. I can't be everywhere at all times, neither can I stay awake and vigilant 24/7.

J: Just to note it, Wyze didn't really fish people in and then change it on them like you've suggested here. They stopped giving free motion events to NEW customers, but all existing ones were grandfathered in and able to choose a $0 plan that still allows motion alerts -- even for additional cameras that are added (except for the newer versions).
In other words, I don't feel like Wyze "tricked" people like Simplisafe did. I have Wyze cameras and don't pay them anything per month and still get motion alerts for free -- including the camera that I just added to the system last week.

I thought about leaving the system in there as a perk. Fries add on and all that.
Instead it is in my truck and will be installed at the storage buildings this morning.
If they would have kept the $9.99 plan I would have run both systems.
Actually had they not done the recent price hike I was going to swap out my ADT for them. Alas I will just keep the expensive monthly system that has not changed in years. --107.147.xx.xx |
