It's been a bit since I've had commercial space to rent out. I currently have 6500 SQ ft of office/shop space in a blue collar part of town. Pd $150k for it.
Would likely be a good fit for:
Screen printing shop
Cabinet maker
Plumber
Other small business
Wondering if ya'll have any tips for getting it rented in a timely manner?
I know we'll do:
Signs, Fbook.
What else would ya'll do?

Get in touch with your local chamber of commerce and the state's small business development center. At the c of c, get their info on who are the members. These are the businesses that are active and serious about making money. Notify everyone of them that you have space.
With the SBDC, get a hold of them and ask them for help finding businesses that are developing and expanding.
Make up a good flyer giving the details of your place and get it to every one of these businesses. Tell them that you may partition space as needed/subdivide.
Maybe offer a referral fee/finders fee to any business that gives you a lead that works out.
Post availability and info on your local Facebook site?
If your area has a shortage of mini storage sites, maybe divide your space into smaller rooms and rent the rooms for storage, for craft production or workshops.
If you have the reserves to not need the money/rent badly, maybe put the word out that you will offer discounted /free space to startup companies for a share of their business--
(Hey, local startup, need space? For a small part of your company, maybe 10 percent, I'll provide you space to get your company going.) (Remember how when Apple started in that garage they sold 1/3 of the company to a friend for , I think, $800? Too bad for that guy he later sold it back to them cheap instead of holding on to it.)

It is a great time for you to go to a Chamber social mixer with some fliers. Offer the members a referral bonus for "successful" leads that result in the space getting rented out.
For those of you who think commercial is crazy - Ned please share what that place rents out for based on that price. Commercial tenants take a while to find but they tend to stay for ever.

Another idea for you.
Section the floor off in 10x10 squares with masking tape. Leave room for aisles. Make the place an indoor flea market and rent the 10x10 stalls for $50 a weekend each. You might get 50 stalls in there with 1500 sq ft for the aisles.
Put concessions in there that YOU run. (People may buy something from the stall vendors but most all of them will buy the hot dogs, sodas, etc which have a high profit margin.
That could give you $10K a month from the stalls, plus the concessions, plus any outside stalls you might have, plus parking fees, etc. --172.58.xxx.xx |

Richard,
Local empty big box stores are turning into indoor flea markets, all full.
ned, Make a list of those businesses you just listed here and DELIVER a flyer to them.
Looks for3000 sf businesses that could use 6000 sf.
