Yesterday I tried calling previous landlord from another state again. This time I told her why I wanted her to call me, before I just asked her to call me. (and she didn't) When she called me back I asked her if she'd been roommates with this girl? She said no, she rented her a place. So I asked her the usual questions, then acknowledged that I had checked with the county office and found there was a difference in property ownership? She immediately named the guy correctly. She said she was his property manager (Google had shown him as 76)

So I googled her name just to be sure, and came upon a gentleman's application in that town for a business license for electrician, with this property manager's name as a reference for having had him do work for her.

No, Jason, I have not started doing that yet. I increased the rent I was getting on this unit. And since as one Landlord on here described it (compared to theirs) it has been a "Bum magnet". So I'm happy to get someone with a state job that has good references.
