After more than a few duds and misfires, it looks like I might have pulled a good one. A school psychologist is relocating to my area from NYS for a job in one of the local school districts. The NYS thing is giving me some pause, but she's sporting a 757 FICO. To be sure, she could still be a pig and an evictee, but seeing a score like that is like running across an oasis in a completely barren landscape. She has a small dog and is excited to see the place as she starts the new job here in August. Has heavy student debt from getting the bachelors and the masters, but it seems to be getting paid. We'll see how it goes. I've learned to throttle back my enthusiasm until screening is complete. lease is signed and money is paid.

We had a similar tenant. A clean guy, worked for the local Navy Yard, high credit score. He said he was undergoing a divorce and was moving closer to work. (True, Navy Yard is 5 min away). We were so excited!

Instead he moved a completely different family there who trashed the apartment and broke a window. They refused us entry (with notice). He never lived there, but paid rent for them on time. We waited a year and served them the notice. Thank God they moved!!!

They are letting her be a psychologist without a PHd?

That seems odd to me. But all the schools have all these different qualifications and then they bend some because nobody wants to put up with all the extra crap the lawmakers are throwing on them.

Both my kids are taking unpaid extra schooling this month and it is worthless.

Has she been working with students before?

My only concern would be that it is more than she signed up for and she bails early on the job.

You may be thinking of a Psychiatrist, a medical doctor. Psychologists tend to use talk and behavioral therapy primarily, and most states do not allow them to prescribe medication because they are not trained in medical care. Psychiatrists are medical doctors, and thus they can prescribe medication.
