I just want to thank everyone on here for sharing and helping each other. We did get a judgment for 1,200.00 (May & June). I'm so happy, because my husband was proud of the way I had it organized and I had everything she asked for. I had prayed too! GF had managed somehow to provide FB messaging w/o her comments/promises. I at least learned from my SIL how to copy and paste out of this, and had both conversations we could provide from BF & GF. They both came, so that was good, no continuing or postponing.

Now, we'll just have to see if he leaves now or waits for the sheriff? 10 days is standard for appeal, if they want to.

My husband said the judge got the GF to admit she still had stuff there! (Because she is going to be only way I have hope of garnishing) I've never done that before but he lied so much, I really want our money for the trouble. --216.126.xx.xxx

Good luck. I have had to wait the 10 days out as well. Hopefully they leave voluntarily and you don't have to get the constable involved. Don't fall for promises, if not out, file the next day for the constable to remove. You may never see the money but the bleeding should at least stop soon. Change the locks as soon as legally possible. Always a good feeling to have the ducks in a row for court. --73.230.xxx.xx

So now you have ten days to get the next phase ready to go.

I agree not to fall for promises. After the court date I do not talk to them until the damages hearing.

Can't lie to me if they never communicate with me.

Have locks ready for swap out.

We don't have an appeal waiting period here. They stand before the judge and he decides what will happen right then and there.

I guess if someone was really gung-ho they could try and go to a higher court. But I always have all my info proving they need to be gone so why would they bother? --107.147.xx.xx

A good court outcome for your birthday. Hopefully this is the gift that keeps on giving in the form of garnishment. --73.159.xxx.xx

Zero, yes, the 10 days is an opportunity to appeal it to the Circuit Court (instead of General District Court we just had).

In order to appeal though, they have to put up all of the money (or a bond?), in case they lose. I don't think they will do that because they don't want us to get the money that easy.

Sadly, we still have to go get the Writ of possession, the clerk gives it to the Sheriff and he sets the date and notifies them, it may be a few more days after that. Wheels of justice grind slow, but sure! --216.126.xx.xxx

Make sure you get the address they are moving to and also the place that they work otherwise you won't be able to collect the judgment. --64.246.xxx.xx
