Did not drive my truck the last few HOT HOT days - grandkids in the pool, staying inside, etc.

Opened it today and WOOOOF! Jugs of commercial grade sanitizer had expanded and leaked.

Last time we had a heat spell like this the temp inside my car was 134 degrees.

My advice: remove anything that expands in the heat, like jugs of chemicals, paint thinner, propane tanks (even the little ones for torches can explode), spray bottles like glass cleaner, and air fresheners.

My truck smells super FRESH with the bottles all puffed out and leaking.

BRAD

The temperature reached here 35 degrees Celsius where X 1.8 + 32=95F Now there is drop where still high heat where 29 Degrees Celsius. Some of the Us weather r it is like the heat ends at the border where reality it does happen as weather is the same at the border and further north. Most people live within 160 kilometres of the border. Will not stay out long outside along with keep a water bottle. The forecast today is rain as well where high heat warning is still in effect. --207.236.xxx.xxx

It's SUMMER!

Next thing you know, sure as the sun comes up, they will be squawking climate change and global warming.Actually, they probably already are.

Did you ever wonder how humans survived all these ages before air conditioning? Somehow we did.

It's SUMMER.

In a few month's they will be complaining about the cold and saying climate change again.

Whimps!

Brad, I rented out a small 2/1 with detached 1.5 garage. Problem was that the garage was full of my goodies. No more room in the storage barn so I had to start moving stuff into MY garage.

Wife isn't happy as now we have to park outside.

Really makes a difference when your vehicle is always outside in the sun. I try and remember to crack the windows a bit. Not so much that rain can get in, but something is better than nothing.

At least your truck smells fresh. Mine smells like the rehab I am working on. Trust me it is not something that you want bottled for resale. --107.147.xx.xx

Strange how we refer to summer when its January as compared to now.

Today it is heat dome blankets multiple states.

But in January summer is like a deceased Pets we might have just lost.

Here is a picture of us with summer. I sure do miss summer. I remember when we would go in the pool with summer.

Summer is like a three month vacation - if you are a kid. After all there a great deal of stress that occur in the rigors of the year in the first grade. If you listen to a third grader you would think the school year is like fighting ISUS --24.101.xxx.xxx

Thankfully my truck has enough rust holes to let the heat and pressure escape. I’d take coveralls and a flannel in January with the woodstove roaring over this heat anyday. --174.249.xx.xxx

Pressurized spray cans have also been known to exploded inside vehicles during the summer heat, I have experienced it. --209.205.xxx.xx

I had a big pearl white Chevy SUV. Garage was built in 1950s. It just fit in. I pulled it in hot on a day like this, rolled the door down and came out later to find a spray can of some brown rust preventer had exploded on a shelf right near the left panel in the rear. Big brown stain caused by the engine heat which was several feet forward although I think it had dual exhaust so a pipe was back there. --173.61.xxx.xxx

Back when I did the work, a gallon jug of muriatic acid decided to puff up and leak in my truck. The fumes corroded anything metal in a 3 foot radius.

It's not the air temp, it's the greenhouse effect of heat multiplied inside by the glass.

I am grateful that we never get that stifling heat and humidity here the Ozarks.

As you may know, being in the middle of the country, we alternate between a cool refreshing ocean breeze and cool refreshing mountain air. Soldier on Brad. --149.76.xxx.x

Bought a hackberry tree, Celtis occidentalis to plant at a rental in the shade of a poorly crabapple tree. I'd planted the cheapy, cheapy crabapple the first year I owned the house, just to get some shade started. The hackberry can take over shading the patio and west side of the house in a few years, and its far enough from the house that leaves in gutters won't be too bad.

Put the lattice panels up on the west side of our own house for the summer. Used to grow morning glory vines on a homemade trellis to shade that west wall of our child's bedroom.

Had hubby plant sunflowers along the east side of our house, where we used to have a spruce tree. Couldn't convince hubby to go for a hackberry there, but it might just be something I need to do and see when he notices.

Grandparents had a tree that was all but taken over by morning glory. It was a pretty sight to behold, but I doubt it was a symbiotic relationship. --107.147.xx.xx

DH had a can of soda explode in his van the other day. I doubt he noticed (that gives you some idea of what the inside of his van looks like...) I noticed because I had to drive it, something I never do. I have my reasons... --198.54.xxx.xx

Ha, I have an extended cab four door truck that is only a one seater 80% of the time. Two seater 19%.

I work out of it. I toss stuff from or for the jobs into it. Then when I finally have had enough I clean it out, get organized again and wait for the cycle to start over. --107.147.xx.xx
