Just about all - like FloridaNative, not the 2 car keys. But #8, that suitcase - I took that exact one to college with me in 1975! Unbelieveably, all of my clothes fit into that one and another similarly sized one. When I came home for Thanksgiving, I returned the lighter clothes and took heavier ones. Reversed that at Spring Break. --98.114.xxx.xxx

Mimeograph machine in school that ink smell

When they came out with 3 speed bikes (Schwinn I think)

Yellow paper in school which you can see an occasional wood chips.

The same mailman would deliver 2x a day.

We had a bread and pasty truck that stopped on one day a week

A TV repairman that would come to your house and replace your tubes, hey seemed to go bad often,..and then the worse,..the picture tube.A big expense,..maybe had to buy another TV.

Dialing "information" and they would look up a number for you,.for a while they had 411 to do the same,..I wonder how many got it confused with 911 which was pretty new then,..

I believe there was a accurate time number also.

Has anyone seen a phone booth lately?

Anyone remember Jerry Lewis movie theaters? They had a cartoonish character picture of him on the front of the building. At one time there were 190 of them around the country, most opened in 1971 and after a disappointing decade they filed for bankruptcy. --73.126.xx.xxx

Deploying to the middle east on more than one occasion, on the pier there was a small store the size of a small living room and they sold only one thing - Every possible flavor of Tang out there.

So if you are ever wondering about star fruit or dragon fruit Tang, Bahrain is the place to visit

Watching Friday night fights with my grandfather, and betting ten cents on who will win,I looked at the boxers and picked the guy who I thought was more muscular ...but it was on late and I always fell asleep before the end of the match. However I was amazing at picking winners!! I always "seemed" to pick the winner as, I found that out by my grandfather giving me that news the next day.Yep,.er... amazing.

Thought of another,

As a kid, I would see the Jack Benny show, and he would often when he was asked how old he was, and would fold his arms and turn his head and look a bit upwards and say,.."I'm 39",..the crowd would laugh and I figured out it was a joke,..but wondered why anyone would say they were so,..OLD. --73.126.xx.xxx

This is at the edge of my memory,..but does anyone remember 1000 mi oil changes for your car? (I also remember that Kendal oil came proudly out with a 2,000 mile oil) They had a "victory type hand on their oil can which was supposed to covey the 2000 mile number. Then I think there were recommended 7000 mile plug changes before more powerful electronic voltages and perhaps better spark plugs,..then there was points and condensers and timing that you set with a strobe light. --73.126.xx.xxx

I'm glad to still have a memory,....so far. however I'm reminded of the couple in their 90's who were having problems remembering things, so they decided to go to the doctor for a checkup. The doctor tells them that they are physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember. Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair. His wife asks, "Where are you going?" "To the kitchen for a drink," he replies. She asks, " Will you get me piece of cake?" The husband says, "Sure." She gently reminds him, "Don't you think you should write it down so you don't forget it?" He says, "No, I can certainly remember that!" Then the woman says, "Well, I'd like some strawberries on top. You'd better write it down because I know you'll forget it." The man replies, "I can remember that! You want some cake with strawberries." She adds, "I'd also like whipped cream on top. Now I'm certain you're gonna forget that, so you'd better write it down ok." Irritated, he says, "I don't need to write it down woman! I can remember that! Cake with strawberries! And whipped cream!" He then grumbles going into the kitchen. After about 30 minutes the old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs. She stares at the plate for a moment and says, "Where's my toast?"
